Cool location

I ate indoors here although it is right on the riverwalk. The inside seating is very cool and feels like you are a hundred years or more back in time. The food was decent. Not on par with top steak houses but not bad. Certainly serviceable. But it is the location that gets the high mark.

The hostess was extremely unprofessional and rude. The service was so so. I saw people standing around and chatting as a tray full of food sat in the middle of the dining room. The steaks were undercooked. The sides were bland. The menu is a la carte and designed to leech your wallet dry. Do not go here!

After researching steak houses in San Antonio, we decided to give the Little Rhein a try - seemed like it had pretty good food and in a great historic building. Unfortunately, our dining experience was average at best. Please note that there are 2 levels to this establishment; the upper floor is full of character - the historic atmosphere you... More

I have solo traveled all over the world. I have dined at numerous restaurants solo, but I have NEVER had such a horrible dining experience as this. I had to wait for over 15 minutes for anyone to approach me after being seated. My wine order was finally taken, but I waited about another 10-15 minutes before I could get... More

Though the staff was a bit slow bringing out our dinners, the patio was lovely and really made the evening special. Salmon entree was excellent and the six of us enjoyed our meals.

Can't add much more to the other positive reviews. Texas steaks perfectly prepared, pricey but worth it. The petite fillet is 7 ozs--- generous. Ask for server Larry, knowledgeable and friendly.

I was seating at an outside table with river view. Beautiful evening. The server was attentive. Excellent wine list. Nice variety within the menu. I ordered a steak which was cooked to perfection. I also ordered crème brule for dessert which was scrumptious. It was pricey yet worth it. I made reservation in advance, I would recommend reservations.

We had around 16 people at the restaurant for a 60th birthday dinner. Everyone had a good dinner and the service was excellent. My shrimp scampi was just OK. But, everyone else seemed to like their meals. I would go back!

My wife is picky with steak and ordered the rib eye and was very satisfied with quality and test. It was more than she could eat. I chose the filet, excellent as well. Service was superb as our group was totaling 24. Great place to dine.

I violated my rule about not ordering steaks outside of Iowa or the Dakotas. I'm usually either disappointed in the quality or feel vastly overcharged. Little Rhein, however, didn't disappoint. Yes, the prices are not discount scale but the steak was worth it. Plus, in Iowa you can't often get escargot and steak on the same menu. And certainly not... More
