Whether dining in the cozy interior or on the outdoor villa-style terrace overlooking the San Antonio River, exquisite food and impeccable service are mainstays of the Fig Tree Restaurant. Crisp linens drape tables set with fine china and sparkling crystal in elegant yet homey surroundings.Delicate, highly composed dishes such as Tournedos Rossini with Perigourdine Sauce, Seared Nori Tempura Yellow Fin Tuna and Cold Water Australian Lobster with Drawn Butter are menu stand-outs. Tableside flamed desserts include Bananas Foster over Vanilla Ice Cream and traditional Baked Alaska.Historically referred to as the Gray-Guilbeau House, the building is named for James Gray and French consul Francois Guilbeau who bought the house from Gray in 1853. The house saw many owners, including the Henshaw family, and was the last of the private dwellings in La Villita. The Phelps family purchased the home in December of 1970 as their personal residence. Visitors to the home were enthralled with its historical significance and ambiance. Delicious gourmet meal in a lovely setting

We had a delightful evening, with interestingly delicious food and wonderful service. It really couldn't have been better.

Reserved for New Year's eve several months in advance. I actually called BEFORE reservations even opened. The day of the event I found out my party had been split in TWO TABLES! this was unacceptable and nobody had told us. If we had know we would have made reservations elsewhere... There was a french woman that was rude and uncaring...... More

Dear Mrs. Ferrer, First and foremost, I would like to thank you for having chosen the Fig Tree to celebrate the New Year. It is a great pleasure to know that you enjoy the food and the service. However, I am very sorry to hear about the condition of the seating arrangement. As far as the Manager, I am taking... More

We originally booked this restaurant for our anniversary due to the beautiful lit patio seating. Unfortunately, we did not get to sit outside and the inside décor seemed a bit old and musty. We almost left but decided to give it a chance. The waitress was awesome and brought us an anniversary crème brulee. I had the steak and my... More

Excellent preparation and presentation of delicious food. Not ready for our reservation on time, ran out of wine that we requested and informed us after a long wait, also ran out of dessert we requested. Waiter was excellent and tried to handle these bloopers professionally.

Enjoy a good meal during the day or evening looking over the san Antonio river, with the water taxis and gondolas ferrying past. From the river walk side- the access is only through rather steep stairs.

The restaurant is on the Riverwalk and the Christmas lights were lit. Magic was around the entire area as we arrived. This is a note we wrote:: Stephen, Thank you for such an excellent night. The food was delicious, and everyone raved over it. The service was superb, as always. Jenette did a beautiful job. I know she had help,... More

This is a remarkable restaurant. This was our second visit and was even better than the first. Sit outside on the terraced dining area with great river view. First time in years I have seen baked Alaska on a dessert menu! Good wine list and no rush to eat.

Returning here after a multi-year absence, we were delighted to see the furnishings refreshed, the ambiance retained and, most importantly, the quality undiminished. Excellent food, well- prepared drinks, delightful desserts. Nothing amiss except the difficulty with parking.

This restaurant on the Riverwalk used to be one of the better ones in San Antonio. The quality of the food and coocking were inferior, the price was that of a one star MIchelin restaurant. This restaurant has to sharpen up things to restart.

I had a group meet for dinner and we were not dissappointed. All our dishes were great as were the salads and desserts. Wine selection was decent as well. Service was attentive and timed the service perfectly. I will be back when in San Antonio
