Popular and tasty hamburgers

Been here quite a few times while my wife was working downtown. Just went back again after a long hiatus. Luckily, the food hadn't changed at all since my previous visit. Came here with a group, which this place makes easy to do since you order first, then find a seat until your food is ready. The... read more

If you love cheese you will love this place. The burgers and fry size are huge. You will go away full. The lines are a bit long, but worth the wait.

The refried beans are so amazing.. Tried the tostada burger and my husband got the macho one... It was so good and tasty! We also got the fries (not a huge fan, won't get next time) the nachos (totally worth it) and 2 drinks. The Pico de gallo they have out for your taking is SO FRESH.. delicious food, BEST... More

Recently visited my favorite hamburger joint and for the first time I left disappointed. I have been going to Chris Madrid's since 1988 when I first moved to San Antonio. I have always praised and loved the place. This time it was average. The burger and fries did not seem that special. I got the usual macho with cheddar and... More

My Dad took us out to Chris Madrid's on Father's Day weekend. We had never been there before and didn't know what to expect. The parking was a bit crazy and there were so many people and that's because we got there early. We waited in line for about 30 minutes and had to sit outside because there was no... More

This place is not for the faint of heart or dieters. They serve a genuine handmade burger. It has grease. They serve big fries. They are not low cal. You can get your burger with lots of greasy melted cheese, and you should. Fabulous burgers, good old-fashioned fries in a very low-key low-budget kind of place. It is one of... More

Two words of advice: Come Hungry. No, better still --- come very hungry! This is no ordinary burger. Say Chris Madrids to any burger lover who's been there and they'll go into spasms, either from memories of a previous visit or anticipating what they'll order the next time. These burgers are so large, they can feed a small village. They're... More

Over the years I have been to Chris Madrid's in San Antonio many times when visiting from England. They still serve the best burgers. I always visit with a friend who is well known, so a warm welcome is always guaranteed. The staff are all friendly and the service is good. Chris' gets busy and you can see why. If... More

Chris Madrid's is a favorite of our family since we moved to San Antonio 13 years ago. We don't go more than a few times per year, but we've never had a bad meal. One thing to remember before you go...and I'm paraphrasing my ex-husband's words to my relatives last weekend..."Take your cholesterol medicine before you eat. It's good but... More
