Very Good Service, Pleasant Atmosphere

After living in San Antonio and frequenting Crumpets in the 1980s, I was surprised to learn that the restaurant is still in existence. (They just celebrated 35 years in business.) This French Bistro is still going strong. The dining room was quiet; not a lot of noise or scurrying around by the... read more

We went on a Thursday, so the restaurant was quiet. The large windows gives excellent views of the woodsy outdoors. Classical music gives it a peaceful ambiance. The food was superb. We had the trout, calf liver with apples, Sicilian Chicken, pasta with alfredo sauce and seafood. Everything was delicious. The rolls were lightly toasted and fluffy in the center.... More

Consistency is the mark of an excellent restaurant. I have eaten at Crumpets since 1999 when I arrived in San Antonio and have found the food and service to be consistently superior. The food is always made with the best of ingredients and the dishes have that "old school" flavor of a well made item. The wait staff are well... More

We had not been to Crumpets in a long time and were delighted to find it not only as good as we remembered but even better. The restaurant is in such a beautiful setting and our waiter was very attentive and helpful. I ordered the sicilian chicken and my husband ordered the chicken chasseur, both of which were delicious. The... More

A last minute idea to get an early dinner, and my first thought was going to Crumpets. Because of dietary concerns, we asked for a menu before being seated. There were several options that fit all needs, and we were shown to a window table with a very nice view. Happy Hour was still going on, so that opened the... More

The food is primarily French and exceptionally well-done. They have an extensive bar and even an attached bakery. The fresh bread brought to your table is alone worth the trip but the food is always the best quality.

We entered the restaurant and stood there for three minutes while a waiter finished some of his homework on an empty table before he stood up and seated us, what appeared to be the manager, was attending a phone call giving her back to the entrance, so she never saw us come in. We ordered some stuffed mushrooms as a... More

Went there for our anniversary. Food was good. Will go back on special occasions. I thought the decor was dated but in s charming way. Can't beat the view.

Made reservations for a groupon and food was $25/plate and bland. There were 7 tables occupied and 17 people total. Our glasses were empty half of the time. Will never go again not recommend the place. I am so glad I bought a groupon so as to know for future reference. All I can say is bread was good and... More
