Yum food! Bum service :(

Any vegan eatery in San Antonio is rare, so it automatically earns 3 stars for me! Then I tasted the food (mother's day brunch buffet of southwest grits, pasta salad, ginger kale salad, kale/bean tacos, Spicy Posole, refried beans, classic nachos, side salad, and chips with a fruit infused salsa.) The cafe lived up to its very good reviews. The vegan tamales(Tuesday special) had a great change of pace flavor, unlike many nondescript tamales. The pepper jack portabella torta with fritas are equally great.

Went here with a co-worker who is vegan. Was unsure at first. I was pleasantly surprised at the taste and quality of the food. I really enjoyed it! I had a quinoa pineapple chipotle bowl. The dish was served warm with vegetables of various type. I would definitely recommend to try the dish. Service was prompt and friendly. Quaint location... More

I was on a business trip, looking for a vegan restaurant in San Antonio. Once more, HappyCow provided great value and suggested to fo to the Vegeria. The restaurant has a nice and sunny terrace and a few tables in the dining room. I was impressed by the variety of different dishes and the different lunch offers. I was very... More

I purchased a groupon to try this vegan restaurant. I was disappointed. Everything was so good. It was delicious. The waitress was very nice, efficient and helpful. I had the portobello torta, the French fries with the garlic curry ketchup (delicious)!, guacamole and a side salad with avocado ranch dressing. Everything was absolutely delicious and tasty. My friend had the... More

Vegan Tamales.... Need I say more... No animals are harmed in the making of them and they are so delicious. I thought the holidays were not going to be the same - since food is usually a big part of the holidays. But when I discovered these tamales my holidays were complete again. I usually buy several dozens so I... More

Tried the spinach and mushroom tamales and also two desserts came to $23. The price was a bit high but it was great to know that there would be no meat mixups or worries that vegetarian people sometimes go through at regular restaurants. The staff was very nice and the peanut butter cheesecake bar was heaven! The zucchini bread with... More

Overall, it was pretty good, went for dinner, our first time. PROS Very friendly staff Not too long of a wait for food despite warnings on menu that each item is freshly prepared and patience is appreciated. Very flavorful. Unpretentious, not too hippie. Fair prices. CONS Most food overspiced (but good for sinuses). Kale chips substituted for tortilla chips in... More

You must try the vegan nachos or the garlic enchiladas. The cheese is cashew, and the "meat" is garbanzo beans. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face! #NomNom

I lived in San Antonio for 8 years and never knew about this place. Shame on me! My husband, 14 yo son, and I joined our church on the Daniel Fast earlier this year and have been amazed at what you learn from just listening to your body, (i.e., mine doesn't readily enjoy dairy or yeast.) So when I was... More
