Neat Place, Great Food!

Loved, loved this tavern! Very cool enviroment, and delicious food. Great service, and I loved the chilled glass bottle of water they bring to your table!

We had lunch on their small patio in August. It was a hot day to be outside, but they had a nice fan blowing to keep us cool. Our server was pleasant, and the food was good. It's a unique restaurant in a unique setting, which was probably the biggest selling point for me. We had the deviled eggs as... More

Hands down my favorite building in San Antonio! I love the loooonnng wood bar (the longest in Texas) and all the woodwork in this place. The bathrooms take me back to a simpler time and place, before smartphones and the internet..... ahhhh! Love it! My hubby had the idea to spend the day on the Riverwalk and we started our... More

We stopped in for a bottle of wine and late night snacks. Everything was great and the place has a nice, relaxing atmosphere. We sat in a booth that was very cozy with low lighting and a candle. It wasn't actually conducive to mingling with other people as was very private but would be perfect for a romantic evening.

View was good, drinks were excellent. Way too many people at the bar could not make your way in or out of the bar. May go back

Went with a large group and all meals were cooked to perfection. Some interesting choices on the menu. Would definitely go back.

A trip to San Antonio is not complete without a visit to The Esquire Tavern! Located a short distance from river walk at St.Mary's and Commerce, the Esquire is worth visiting! What an awesome mixology bar! Their handcrafted cocktails are made with the freshest ingredients! The food is amazing as well! All of their condiments are homemade, even their pickles,... More

If you like old fashioned bars with great mixologists you'll love The Esquire. They also serve food which we didn't try but looked very good. We listened to a great jazz trio on a Sunday afternoon along with our drinks and felt like locals. The bartenders are knowledgeable and very friendly. A must see!!!
