My wife and I visited here on a recent business trip. This was my wife's favorite hangout many years ago when she danced for the San Antonio ballet. She was very surprised to get the opportunity to visit her old hangout again. We stopped by for a couple pints of their craft ale and some appetizers. The atmosphere is a... More

Dark and worn is the look they are going for in this upscale bar. It's a decent place to grab a unique cocktail or local brew. They serve eclectic food items covering vegetarians and burger lovers (burger was quite good actually). The drinks were expensive unless you were drinking beer and the food was pretty reasonable. We'd go again for... More

We had something like a meatball on a a stick with a mustard sauce. Good, not amazing. Lots of beer selections. The atmosphere in this place was cool. Like a man's hunting lodge.

stiff drinks made with imagination are offered at the Esquire a bar thatis an old SAT tried and true bar. Dark wood booths, long bar with expert bar tenders. Wonderful surprises for special house concoctions. And good food if you want to nosh.

I headed here for a late night meal (just before 10PM when the kitchen closes) and some brews. The bison burger was as soft and luscious as butter and the pickled onions added a bit of acid bite that made this just spectacularly delicious. The side pickled veggies are quite spicy so be careful. I personally prefer my desserts sweet... More

This is worth the visit. I has the longest wooden bar in the state of Texas and has been there since the Esquire opened up the day after prohibition ended. Most of their liquor and craft beer is on display and covers almost the entire back wall of the bar. Much of the furniture is original dating back to the... More

We ate here in early June of 2014. We sat on the balcony so we could enjoy watching the people and activity on the riverwalk while we ate. The food was terrific and the service was great. The atmosphere inside seemed to be excellend as well with live music.

Stopped in to get out of the heat and have a cold drink. Was thrilled with the three piece jazz group playing. Had the homage fried pickles and a hard cider from the bar. Service was great.
