I was in town for a friend's 40th birthday. We stopped in to get some food and drinks around 10pm. It is my understanding it is an old bar in downtown SA. My drinks were fine. I was a bit surprised they didn't have Grey Goose vodka. Food so so. I got a sirloin burger. It was ok, I wouldn't... More

Wonderful, authentic bar with a great drink and food menu. We were lucky to get an outside table to watch the entertaining passerbys on the Riverwalk below. Service was great and drinks were classic, but inventive. Food choices were also great. A must go!

My wife came here once with some friends and then insisted that we go back. I'm not really a drinker, so I took a look at the bar menu and was pleasantly surprised. The food here is just barely shy of perfection - the fried beets, the pimiento cheese sandwich with bacon, the bison burger...I've just been blown away time... More

I visited the Esquire for a late dinner after getting into town. It was very dimly lit, but the staff was great and the beer list was very solid. They have lots of local beers and some other rare beers as well! We had the friend pickles, ceviche and I had the Bison burger - it was all excellent! I... More

I have actually lived in San Antonio for 21 years; that being said, what a lovely gem to find downtown. I can imagine it is full during the day and on the weekend - the kitchen is open until 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and happy hour from 3 until 7. We were looking for somewhere different to try for... Quant little outdoor terrace overlooking the Riverwalk, the homemade waffle chips are yummy! $8.00 lunch specials with a beverage included are nice way to help keep a travel budget in check.

Arrived from the airport after a delayed flight and only a breakfast sandwich before boarding the plane at 6:15...at 3:30 PM found this oasis and enchiladas that nearly saved me from extinction. Service was great and even came with tips on where to shop!

If you wanna immerse yourself in a big-city type of atmosphere than go to this establishment! It's very nice inside, I was impressed by the beautiful wood furniture and tables, they play cool music videos on the TVs above the bar and have a HUGE selection if beverages. Adjacent to the river walk, this place is always catering to diverse... More
