Fogo de ChaoR (fo-go dee shoun), is an authentic Southern Brazilian steakhouse. In 1979, FogoR began sharing the gaucho way of preparing meat in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Today, our gaucho chefs still expertly grill each of our 16 cuts of meat and offer you continuous tableside service. We invite you to enjoy the delicious preparations of our gaucho chefs along with our gourmet salad bar, authentic Brazilian side dishes, and award-winning wine list.

Excellent Meats

Fogo de Chao is on the Riverwalk. Being a chain, you know exactly what to expect. The meats were all very tasty and well cooked. The salad bar had an incredible selection.

Fogo is just a great place to get an exceptional meal. Especially if you are eating low carb as I am. The meats are top grade and are served at the table from skewers brought to the table from a fire spit. The salad bar is also like none other. Top grade items which perfectly compliment the meats. I cannot... More

I was excited to try this restaurant but it disappointed in several ways. They don't provide a menu so unless you know there IS a menu and ask, you will miss the other options. The place is geared around stuffing you with grilled meat and salad for $50 per head and they don't seem to like deviants from that formula.... More

Sure, there are a lot of good things about Fogo de Chao ... the filet and bottom sirloin, for example. However, if you can't get the picahna right ... or even bacon, you're in the wrong business. The picanha was chewy and rather flavorless. Instead of getting fancy with bacon (a sweet and spicy type, apparently), give us the natural,... More

I had the pleasure to dine by myself at the Fogo De Chäo after a long day of meetings. This experience was wonderful as the staff catered to me as a VIP. Beside the food being extreme delicious, the atmosphere was pleasant and not too noisy but most of all the staff from the hottest to the different servers or... More

Our daughter took us there last night to celebrate night for a celebratory meal. It was awesome! The cost is $50, but, when you think of the cost of a prime cut of meat today, it is not that bad. It's every cut of steak, lamb chops and leg of lamb, chicken and sausage. I personally am a beef eater... More

Let me first start off by saying if I had not experienced other Brazilian steakhouses, then I probably would have been fine. However, this one seemed to have a lack-luster salad bar with very few actual salad options. The mushrooms that they stated were shiitake actually looked like Monterrey and were flavorless, and there was not good selection of cheese.... More

Upon writing a review on open table about fogo de chao, i have to say my husband and I are very impressed. To keep it short, we didn't have a great first experience. After writing a review, the General manager took time to contact us personally and talk to us about our experience. What a professional man he was. He... More

Took wife and 2 sons for dinner. Easy access right off the river walk. Variety of cuts were great (lamb, chicken, steaks) all with a great Brazilian flavor. Service was well above average, drinks stayed full and management walked the floor. When we come back we will make sure to go back. Price vs quality you can't pass up.

We were in San Antonio for our grandsons' Air Force graduation from Lackland AFB. We made the reservations 2-3 mos ahead since it would be Christmas Day. The boys loved it. Everything from the soups, salad bar, steaks, to dessert was a real treat. The food was delicious! The only reason we did not give it a 5 was, it... More
