The Grill at Leon Springs is located just beyond the HWY 1604 freeway marking the outskirts of civilization for San Antonio residents. Nestled on the frontage road in a nondescript accumulation of good BBQ (Rudy's), pizza (Fralos) and carwash (Wash Tub) one would not expect a great meal. Surprise, surprise, surprise! The food here is creative with daily specials that... More

We believe that The Grill at Leon Springs is the best restaurant in northwest San Antonio, Tx (We have been dining there since its inception and sampling San Antonio restaurants since the early 1990’s).The grill is located in what was originally a hardware store (authentic Texas limestone façade) in Leon Springs, Texas: it was remodeled in the late 1980’s and... the food at this restaurant was fabulous! so many different entrees, appetizers and salads. Very nice wine list. the escargot was fabulous! we tried the pasta, snapper and stroganoff and were very pleased. the portion sizes were large, we took home left overs. after dinner we strolled through the patio and found live music. Complimentary valet service too.

Very comfortable, with a wide variety of choices on the menu. All of them are good! Very good wine list, too! Best to have a reservation. Not quiet or intimate, but lively and you leave happy!

Have read a lot about this restaurant and was not disappointed. Very nice ambiance but pretty far out of San Antonio. We had the Blackened Gulf Drum and the Spicy Penne Chicken and both were excellent, and very large portions. We also shared the Calamari as an appetizer and were disappointed, it was tough and rubbery. Neither of us would... More

I still love this old, romantic, limestone cavern (they keep it dark in here) of a restaurant for its ambiance and usually snappy service. Alas, the Sunday Champagne Brunch once opulent enough for the King of Prussia may now even receive a scowl from Count Mountjoy of the Grand Duchy of Fenwick. The dishes served are fairly well prepared overall,... More

My wife and I have eaten here several times and have had a pleasant experience each time. Dinner entrees average $25-$30 each. Highly recommend the Panko crusted talapia. Served with lump crab meat over the top and a nice sauce. Don't bother with the apple crepia dessert, a llittle overpriced at $9. As is usually the case in better restaurants,... More

We were long time residents of San Antonio and have retired to Southern California. When we return to San Antonio we always try to have one dinner at The Grill. Last week we had dinner on Saturday night, had our favorite booth. Ordered the calamari for appitizer, it was very tough and we did not eat it. The waiter ask... More

We have eaten here many times over the past six years and because of our outstanding experience I wanted to do another review. The folks who own this restaurant are from France. They started their first place in Alamo Heights in 1985. We visited them back then and they had a very popular and well renowned restaurant named L'Etoile (The... More

The Grill at Leon Springs is a wonderful restaurant - great food and the best service of any restaurant in and around San Antonio. Great wine selections, too. Dinner is not cheap but worth every penny. The outdoor bar is also very nice for a casual happy hour. you won't be disappointed here!
