I've lived in Salem for ten years and loved Passage to India. It was my first experience with Indian food, and I appreciated being able to order online and pop in to order my food. The food is delicious, prices are comparable to what else I've found for decent Indian, and the service is, for the most part, friendly enough.... More

The prices are very reasonable. Good serving size. Husband and i ordered one entree each and had leftovers to take home. Service is not personable but fast. They start customers with complimentary papadum with two dips: tamarind sauce and a super spicy sauce. I thought this was a nice touch because i've never been to an Indian restaurant that serves... I have been here a few times and always tolerated the rude staff, from manager, waitstaff to bus persons because the food was good. The last two times however I noted my meal was somewhat watered down and tasteless. This last visit was my absolute last. When we arrived we were greated by what I can only describe as a... More

We eat at Passage to India roughly 10-12 times per year. The food is consistently excellent, and is pretty inexpensive too. Service is friendly and prompt.

We ordered takeaway food which unfortunately didn't have a delivery service . However, the food was fantastic- very large portions and in perfect plastic airtight containers that travelled well in the car , Each dish we ordered was as tasty as the next , possibly big enough for two people as it was so rich . The rice accompaniment was... More

We joined some friends for dinner last night at Passage to India. I would like to emphasize that the food was good; however our experience was awful. Shortly after our food arrived, we were seated in the bar area, a drunk or stoned patron sitting at the bar, began to behave erratically and eventually in a threatening way. Then another... More

We were celebrating a friend's birthday. He has traveled extensively to India and loves the food. We had numerous dishes and appetizers. Everything was devoured! The small bread basket was overflowing with naan bread. The portions were just the right size. The serving dishes are beautiful, unique & heavy! This is in a great location in Salem. Located near historic... More

Every year my friends and I visit Salem in October to participate in the Halloween festivities and every year we leave early because we can't find a place to have a drink after we're through with the scary stuff. It is so frustrating! Every bar in town is absolutely packed and charges a cover. This year, we happened upon the... More
