Excellent Indian Food And Reasonably Priced

Passage to India is a place we dine at 10-15 times per year. The food is consistently terrific, with many great vegetarian choices. There is a full bar and a decent wine list. Service is very good too. And a dinner for 2 with drinks(prior to the tip) is roughly $60, which is quite reasonable given... read more

Met a classmate from long ago for lunch last week. Since we both grew up on Long Island decades ago, we didn't have much chance to explore Indian cooking in our childhood. But, the intervening years have brought more variation to our palates than suburban versions of pizza and chow mein. Passage to India has a great lunch menu, quick... More

We discovered Indian food on trips to London and are often disappointed in what we find on this side of the pond. Our tongues, lips and elsewhere were burning during and after this meal! A delight.

The best Indian food ---and one of the top 3 eateries ---in Salem. Great flavors and fresh ingredients keep me and my wife hooked on Passage to India. The atmosphere is laid back and clean and the staff are very attentive. The bar side is dark and classy bar-like and the restaurant is a mix of young and old chatty... More

We've eaten here numerous times (and done take-out) and it is always excellent. We have tried all of the veggie dishes and some of the fish dishes and they have all been really good. This place never disappoints and I would definitely recommend it.

While the menu is the usual Indian fare, the quality of the food itself, the subtlety of the flavorings, and the service are among the best I've ever had. Best Naan I've ever had - try the onion Naan. Curried muscles had nice balanced seasonings - very savory broth. Martini and cocktail were exceptionally good - didn't have high expectations... More
