THE destination for an authentic Italian dinner in Salem. A little crowded, since it is so small, but that is part of the fun. They will even create your favorite dish if it is not on the menu or that evening's offerings. Absolutely wonderful.

Folks had told me - this was a great restaurant - maybe at one time, but not this night - it was good Italian Food, but not great (all in the party of 8 agreed so). Facility is small and meant to be intimate but when they let folks wait inside even those without reservation, it's a distraction. Less than... More

On a suggestion from a local we dined here before going to the North Shore for a show. Although we were 15 min.late for the reservation, we we met graciously and shown our table. A bit cramped and a tiny bit cool, but we warmed right up with the delicious Italian Cuisine. The wait staff was great, food wonderful and... More

We tend to get good referrals from workers in the areas we visit. On our trip to Salem before Halloween, we got a tip from the harbor cruise story teller about a wonderful Italian restuarant, the Bella Verona. We decided to try it and were not disappointed. It's a fairly small place, so it would be wise to make reservations... More

During our recent trips into Salem this Autumn, we stopped by Bella Verona Restaurant. The small quaint restaurant gives you the feel of being in Italy. The owner makes all the pasta and at this time of year makes pumpkin raviolis that are just so good! We also loved the tiramisu! Wonderful! When we returned we had the same thing!... More

My husband and I were visiting Salem again with two of our grandchildren. Our 13-year-old will try anything -- his 10-year-old sister is a bit less adventurous. She was not happy when three of us decided Bella Verona was where we would go to have dinner - the menu didn't have "anything I want". However, after the very gracious owner... More

This was so incredible, we went there two nights in a row. Being from New York City, and having lived in Boston for the past 6 years, I pride myself on saying that I know my Italian food. And I have must admit, this is up there with the best- and without the crazy price. We got an appetizer, two... More

This restaurant is right next to the Hawthorne Hotel, but, we didn't even realize it was there for the first few years we went there! Since discovering it though we haven't been to Salem without going in at least once (frequently twice)! Fantastic food and great service! Very reasonable prices too!
