We ate at Bella Verona based on Trip Advisor recommendations and we weren't disappointed. This restaurant feels comfy and cozy and has a nice family touch about it. In terms of food, we got the artichokes, prosciutto and mozzarella for an appetizer. It was solid. I was not the biggest fan of the tapenade and anchovy spread. I didn't like... More

Charming, quaint, romantic, authentic and just lovely little place. Service was great, menu was varied. Ask for suggestions. Food was very good. Would absolutely return!

The place is exceeding tight - there was little room to squirm! But it was made up for with the incredible food!

If you like Italian food as it is prepared in Italy you shouldn't miss this little jewel. We didn't have reservations but I could see that at popular eating times reservations are necessary. We ate there twice once very late on Friday and then very early on Monday. Every dish was perfect.

Good little restaurant with perhaps not so creative Italian offerings. If you're looking for food that comes right from grandma's kitchen try this place. It is very tiny so I can imagine that you'd need reservations during peak season.

Superb menu, great cooking, love the location, a stone's throw from everything but tucked away and quiet. Love the unique specials, like rabbit and fresh seafood. Pasta is superb. Very accommodating, brought in a group of 15 (with a reservation) and they treated us fabulously.

I understand why this little hole in the wall restaurant was voted the "Best Italian Restaurant" for 5 years in a row. Conveniently located on Essex St, across from the Hawthorne Hotel where we were staying, we ventures in and were a bit surprised at how small it was. It is a very homey, Italian themed location, and we were... More

I brought my mother for dinner in celebration of her birthday as many people had said it would be a special place. The atmosphere was very quaint & cozy. I found that to be a positive. I was really hoping for a great meal. My mom and I ordered the Caprese appetizer. It was meh. The tomatoes were bland, the... More

Being in Salem, you expect magical things to happen. We thought we’d been put under a spell when we entered Trattoria Bella Verona. We felt as if we’d both been transported back to Italy. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated. The staff was personable, friendly, attentive and polite. Service was excellent. There is a nice selection of... More
