A Day spent exploring Salem!

There is a lot to do in Salem, so it is worth taking several day trips! That's what we did! This time we went to The House of Seven Gables and the Salem Witch Museum! We enjoyed both! In the winter, we saw Diners, Drive-ins & Dives and made sure that The Lobster Shanty was on our list! The... read more

Saw this place on DDD and when we moved to MA we made a point to try this place. I always get the Conn. Lobster Roll and it never disappoints. My wife loves the lobster martini, it so different and taste of the sea. Everyone we bring there loves the experience, even my father in-law who got the hot dog.... More

We ended up here because we had heard about their lobster martini. It was interesting for sure. I also had calamari and got to choose between three different styles. The food was tasty and the atmosphere out on the deck was nice. The service was painfully slow, however, but it was busy to be fair. It is worth checking out.

Not the most memorable seafood lunch I've had along the coast, but it was ok. 1 1/4 lb lobster was good. House salad came w small pieces and shreds of lobster. Black bean and corn chile was seriously spicy. Service was very attentive.

Great food, reasonable prices. The restaurant was small, but we ate on the spacious sidewalk area. The beer tap was not working, but they had a wide selection of bottles and cans. Located within walking distance of all the historical landmarks in Salem.

WE LIVE LOCALLY AND SOMETIMES LIKE TO DO RESTAURANT CRAWLS so on a recent summer night we added the Shanty to our list for the evening...although the location is sweet and live music was playing the food and drinks are not up to snuff.. I order a Mudslide over priced and in a short glass..but the worst part was the... More

We found this little hole in the wall the last time we were in Salem and when we returned this year, we had to return after bragging about the lobster rolls for over a year. The first time we tried the Traditional Style and this time we split the Connecticut Style. Both were fantastic and the Clam Chowder was outstanding... More

Flip flops, tank tops and cut off jeans might be too formal. Come for the cheap beer, fresh and unpretentious food, and who knows what else - live music, surly staff, eccentric locals wandering by..... Outside seating on a quiet alley near the main public parking with an ice cream joint just across the street. Very local, very genuine, but... More

The service and ambiance was great. The food...just so so. I enjoyed my Lobster Caesar Salad, my partner had a baked haddock which was underwhelming. The price is decent...but the food is eh.
