Description: Located in the Old London Coffee House, which dates back to the 1700s, Red’s Sandwich Shop has been visited by many Celebrities, Congressman, Senators and even First Lady Barbara Bush. A relaxed, friendlly atmosphere in a historic building is the perfect place to join Salem locals for the BEST breafkast and lunch menu in town. The food is delicious, all home-style cooking at pricing so reasonable you almost feel guilty. Having visited numerous restaurants in Salem that charge outrageous pricing for mediocre food, Red's Sandwich Shop is the crown jewel of the city in terms of excellent food, great prices, and a lovely environment with a friendly staff. They offer an extensive breakfast and lunch menu, Dinner Specials, and a daily $6.95 Special.. And when they say roasted turkey, they mean roasted turkey -- whole turkeys are roasted on the premises and carved for your order. In a tribute to Thanksgiving, their Home Style Turkey Sandwich (roasted turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce and gravy) is out of this world! Wonderful specialty items from Chicken Marsala and Chicken Piccata to Chicken Pot Pie are made to order. Soups and chowders made fresh daily. For a variety of sandwiches from open-faced, to club, to roll-ups -- they cannot be beat. Red's is an award-winning restaurant that received the "BEST BREAKFAST ON THE NORTH SHORE" award for 24 years in a row! I cannot rave enough about this restaurant. If you have only one restaruant to visit in Salem, make it Red's.

The breakfast is filling and a step above Denny's. Service was attentive. Good place to enjoy a meal but only takes cash.

We are from CT, been coming here for Salem's Haunted Happenings for several years. Red's is by far the best place to eat in town. The value is remarkable and the portions are HUGE!The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable about ever thing Salem. Can't go wrong here. Try their sirloin tips!! Really enjoyed our breakfast at Red's. Small line out front to wait on but we were sat within 10 minutes. Waitress was fantastic, very attentive and the breakfast food was yummy. Pancakes are huge, so we got one for the table for the 3 of us to share along with our omelets. Good value for money paid.

My daughter and I stopped at Red's for breakfast while visiting Salem. The portions were very large and the food was tasty. If you get the pancakes, one pancake is about the size of 3 regular pancakes! Staff was friendly and the place was packed.

I'll say this. It's my fav place in Salem. It's seafood chowder is LITERALLY the best on the planet. My only thing I wish would change is the hours due to sometimes my flight first get in till afternoon so i don't always make it. Over all, it's part of Salem's charm.

Great breakfast, with more food than you should eat. Basically all you can eat for 8 bucks. Pancakes are a two foot circle. 2 egg breakfast has 5 pieces of bacon and 3 potatoes worth of home fries plus toast. It's not fine dining it's for soaking up what you had the night before, or your food for the day... More

Traditional New England menu, fast friendly service with large oversized portions. We followed the reviews of others reported here, but unfortunatly this is one occasion where we felt let down by the #2 status resulting from cumulative reviews. If you are looking for good seafood, this is not the place, serving size is large but the broiled fisherman plate was... More
