We had just missed out hotel restaurant at the Hawthorne Hotel by about five minutes. They said the only place let open serving food after 10:30 was Salem Beer Works. I was not in the mood to walk over here after having a long day of running around for Halloween fun, but my husband talked me into it. It is... More

This is a good place to come if you like giant TV screens a very loud crowd. Beers are good but other than that, feels like any other sports bar.

Really enjoyed our dinner and drinks at Salem Beer Works. We made a reservation for a Fri night (6 ppl) and were seated right away. Both the beer menu and regular menu boast a variety of choices. We really enjoyed the Big Boy IPA and the Whitbeer, and on the menu we really liked the Portobello mushroom burger, Ragun Cajun... More

The pros are that there are some really great house brewed beers here (Blueberry Ale is a favorite) and the burgers are fantastic. The cons are that it is usually crowded, has pretty average service and is very generic.

stopped in to catch the tail end of a football game and found a great selection of beer! Bar keep was fairly friendly even offering tastes of all kinds before selecting. Negative...barely anybody in the establishment, but maybe I caught it on a slow day.

We both thoroughly enjoyed a Hoppy Christmas beer. I had the scallop appetizer and it was really, really good. After a couple of days of mediocre food in a different town, my luck turned.

The food is always good here and they have a great selection of beers brewed in-house. The menu is not huge, but what they have is great. It's a favorite local go-to as well as nice place for tourists to visit.

Been visiting this Restaurant several times a year since it was built in the 1990's (it had another name back then, and has been renovated several times over the years to keep it up-to-date). Never had a bad meal, or a bad beer. Very inexpensive with many selections at $10 or less. The decor is fun, with some Salem-Themed Beers,... More

Food is good, but not many options. I was disappointed that the veggie burger contained cheese, but the waiter was good in notifying me and replaced it with a vegetarean item.

This was a nice surprise as a restaurant. The food was fresh and delicious. The various ales' were tasty and the staff was great.
