Very enjoyable pastries. Ham & cheese and plain croissant, sticky bun and muffins all were great tasting. Enjoyed hot chocolate, coffee and tea. Quaint place located on quiet side street. Popular with locals and a superb place to grab a quick coffee before starting your day.

Being a bakery-a-holic, I would rate A&J as the BEST of the best. Tasty, fresh and alway delicious. Their breads are fantastic and their pastries are sinfully delicious. I always have a difficult time deciding what to get!

Everything is baked from scratch and if you go in the very early morning the air smells wonderful, like baking bread and cookies. If you go on a weekend be sure to get a browned butter tart. They are the most amazing baked good EVER! The line will be out the door but it's worth the wait. Seating inside is... More

The venue has a selection of baked goods, but the service and friendliness puts me off ever returning. As for other reviewers exclaiming how excellent the breads are, they are mediocre and expensive if you are expecting anything like a French or Italian bakery. The lemon and poppyseed muffin was nice, but prices are expensive for what the products are.... More

Celestial scones, tasty muffins, croissants and artisan breads. Plus good coffee and pleasant service. A place worth finding.

The building it's in was behind scaffolding so we passed it twice but once we found it was exactly what the trolly driver said. Good coffee, good pastry, a perfect snack.

Where in the world can you get a good croissant outside of Paris? In Salem, Massachusetts, of course! AJKing, as we call it locally, is the BEST bakery around these parts -- for croissants, pain au chocolat, scones, and artisan breads from challah to baguettes, to specialty loaves, like olive or fougasse (a wondrously crusty sesame creation). We thank our... More

The best! Croissants, apricot & ginger scones, pain au chocolate, blueberry muffins, baguettes, cinnamon swirl bread! This is the place to go for pastries and coffee in Salem. Get there before 10am for the best selection of breads/pastries. It usually has a line too so it may take 10 minutes or so to get to the counter.

Cinnamon rolls.....fresh breads....great coffee! They use local dairy ( hormone free) for all milk products and source local. Can be a line-up. Worth the wait!
