Excellent sandwiches!

We stopped by to get some sandwiches for lunch and got them to go. I had a BLT that was simply wonderful. The bacon was awesome and it was served on toasted homemade bread. While the pesto mayonnaise was good, I prefer regular mayo. My companions had smoked brisket; this is served with a spicy... read more

I love bacon, it is truly a wonderful thing. The bacon here is ok but I've had better. The brisket sandwich is good, but mustard overpowers the taste of the brisket. The pulled pork sandwich was good but a little vinegary.

Went to scratch kitchen between visits to monster museum and pirate museum (what can I say?, we were on vacation). What a great place. List upon list of local sources where they procured their ingredients. Everything thing we had was excellent. I highly recommend the scratch burger. The bacon and onion jam scared me a bit, but I figured, when... More

We had the Panini's and the veggie one is to die for. The gave us a huge bag of french fries which were delicious. This place had great character. I would definately go back again.

Restaurant had only two tables of two customers each on a Friday at about 9:00PM. Other customers coming in after I did got their order before me. I waited 35 minutes for one sandwich and asked when it was comming. I was told by our waitress that "the chef likes to make everything fresh so if I can't wait there... More

Visited this restaurant while on The Salem Food Tour, ended up going back for lunch the next day. With all the food being locally provided and prepared, it gives a whole new meaning to the words "freshly prepared." If you are not a fan of bacon.....you may find the menu limited. Those of us who love bacon, found the decision... More

The food was very fresh, and while there is originality in their sauces, what I sampled were too strong, and all the flavors cancelled each other out.

On a recommendation from a local Salem witch, we tried Scratch Kitchen yesterday. Wow. I'm craving the food now. I had a burger from Maine farm raised beef that was absolutely delicious and those fries.. uh. The only fries I've ever had that were better are Thrasher's in Ocean City, MD. Amazing. With their home made ketchup? Euphoria for the... More

We stumbled up this gem and had no problem getting a seat. Food is so tasty - everything is made from scratch. Lots of great beers on tap. Gotta love the fries and home made ketchup - YUMMY. Our service was decent and portions were nice. Great way to start our day in Salem

We had read the reviews and were prepared for a wait and possibly bad service. That being said, we were pleasantly surprised to receive neither. We waited about ten minutes for our food (the bacon Mac and cheese and fish tacos). The food was a good sized portion and very tasty. The service was decent as well with our waitress... More
