I've been to Scratch Kitchen twice. The first time, a while back, was for lunch. I thought the food was excellent at that time, and the service very good. So maybe things have changed. On a more recent visit, we went for brunch. I was disappointed. For one thing, the brunch menu is a little limited. They have no lunch... More

This wasn't a place I expected to find in a touristy town. We had a very enjoyable lunch and everything was well prepared. The server was attentive and friendly and gave us several ideas of what to visit in Salem. I wish we had this restaurant at home!

We recently decided to give Scratch Kitchen another try. About a year ago I had called for a take-out sandwich order (1 sandwich) and I asked that one of the sandwich ingredients be deleted. I was told that they wouldn't do that, that the sandwiches came only as they were listed on the menu and no other way. Fast forward... More

Really nice dinners but they do run out of menu items as they are a farm to table restaurant. Would go again!

The best sandwiches I have ever eaten! Lots of fresh ingredients, including the bacon! The mayo on the BLT was fantastic. Hubby had the cuban (their version of it) and OMG was it good. True smoked pork and not the salt cured type. Fresh lemonade and craft root beer. and a summer draft was just the thing to wash it... More

My son and I went for dinner. He had the brisket and I had the turkey sandwich. The brisket was so tender, it fell apart. Everything was made from scratch including the fries, pickles, and ketchup. The pickles were very good and the ketchup was very tasty. Nothing like the brands in the grocery stores. The prices were a bit... More

We wanted this to be a great place based on appearance and style, but unfortunately it falls just a bit short. We went for lunch based on interesting menu and the locally grown mantra. Being visitors, we favored eating local items and the twist on recipes seemed exciting. The food was good, but not great as others have written. But... More

Scratch Kitchen promotes their food as "made from scratch," using local products. Good idea, pretty decent food, prices a bit high, but not too bad. Portions were generous - for example, we wanted to split a fries - our server recommended the small - he was right - more than enough for three of us. The place was busy, but... More

We had lunch outside on 6/26. The waitress was very personable and funny. The food was excellent, lots of stuff on the menu including a few out of the ordinary items. I had a traditional burger, it was delicious.

We were amazed here last summer so being in Salem we tried again. This place is quite a concept, local products, interesting menu, wide selection of craft brews (ahh the prices???). They even have a sense of humor, the Elvis sandwich (my wife said "NO!!"). My wife had the fish sandwich, I tried the beef. The fish sandwich, more like... More
