This is one of my go-to restaurants in Salem, because food and drinks are always great, no matter what you get, and the staff is awesome! They have a huge selection of margaritas, so you're bound to find at least one you love! They have great burritos (I recommend the one called The Howling Wolf), and you can get them... More

Friendly and quick service, very tasty Mexican food of very high quality, and generous portions, nice choice of beers, all for a reasonable price. A must for any visitor to Salem! Highly recommended!

I've been enjoying this place for many years...great, reasonable food. However, certain "regulars" are treated with kid gloves regardless of their behavior. In addition, management has not shown equity between customer and employee. There also seems to be a lack of concern that a number of previous customers no longer frequent the establishment. The food is great, as are some... More

Very nice taqueria with an unusual selection of margaritas and veggie options (the fried plantains were a nice surprise)! In contrast to several other reviews, we had very friendly and attentive service even though it was already fairly crowded at 5:30 pm. We'll definitely visit again!

We went on a Tuesday, which is $2 taco night. Understandably, it was packed, even though it was only 5:30. We got a table pretty quickly. Our 8 year old was happy with the kids menu because it had quesadillas in addition to the usual kiddie fare. We shared bacon wrapped shrimp and fried cheese cubes as appetizers. The shrimp... More

I love this place great atmosphere and the food is great but you have get there early to get a seat. But the good thing about it is you can get the food to go which is a nice touch when you can't sit down but you want some great Mexican food.

Not cheap if you order a $30 pitcher of white sangria , appetizers and entrees for three adults (about $90). You could settle in with a beer and taco for much less. Friendly, quick service. Bit noisy but great atmosphere for 20-something pub people. Food is good and way beyond refried beans and rice ( which they also serve). Check... More

We have tried them all. Atmosphere is not much but the food is the best. The howling wolf burrito is is fully spiced without being harshly flavored. This is deepened with crisp bacon inside. Lovely

As a local, I can tell you this, Howling Wolf serves good fresh Mexican food at great prices. Sometimes there's live music, and frequently, it's busy and loud. Service can vary enormously depending on how busy the place is, but you won't be disappointed in the food. On our latest visit—six of us—we had a veg burrito, a pollo con... More
