good food and great atmosphere

This is another Salem standard with good food, decent service and good prices. It's generally very crowded but the food makes up for the wait.

Whenever I go into a city/town I don't know much about, I like to ask the locals where they eat. During a morning walk in Salem, I saw this restaurant. It looked quint and the type of place I am always looking for. So, I looked for the reviews to see how others had rated it. They were all over... More

Haven't been in a few years, BF and I went last night, the tables have all been changed, they have like 3 tables for four, and are totally crammed in there, we could not even sit comfortably, they also now have these high tables, that are also crammed in. How anyone sits comfortably in there is beyond me. We were... More

I've heard other locals say they wanted to support this local business and since I couldn't go to the scheduled meeting with them I went with my partner for lunch one day. He ordered the haddock bites which were on special and he enjoyed them very much. I saw a "shrimp teriyaki" special and thought it odd so asked about... More

This is my third trip to In a Pig's Eye and I really enjoy coming here. The food is very 'stick to your ribs' and they mix a great drink. I had a really good Chicken Parm with pasta and two drinks that were potent. The best part is the local entertainment and being able to relax with the local... More

Great lunch stop in this very weird town. The lady owner was really welcoming and the atmosphere was comfortable and laid back. Definitely worth a visit.

After seeing the House of Seven Gables , walking around we stopped in In a Pigs Eye for a quick bite. It is small rustic setting with nice serves and warm feeling Staff like the locals are very friendly and social We had sandwhiches and burgers but the food was plain tasting. Although cooked it lacked flavor. even the sandwhichs... More

We went in on a busy Saturday night and while we were able to get seated quickly the service was poor. It took a while to get a menu and then even longer to get a menu. The menu was pretty tiny and we seemed to have multiple people trying to serve us and do multiple jobs in the restaurant.... More

A tavern type eatery in a historic neighborhood. As out-of-towners though, we did not feel very welcomed by the waitress, who never so much as smiled at us. The food was tasty and plentiful though.
