Went there for lunch today while in Salem to find the doors locked and a sign on the door saying the business had been closed and would reopen next year under new management

We were in town for Halloween festivities in Salem & everything went well except dinner. Service was absolutely terrible and I am usually pretty lenient and understanding. The waitress disappeared constantly, which wasn't shocking since after being seated and taking our drink order we didn't see her for 10 minutes (NOT exaggerating) with our drinks or to take an order.... I've eaten at Capt's a total of 4 times. I'm going to try to avoid a 5th. Don't remember what I had the first time. 2nd time I tried the fish tacos. Very little fish, and very "blah". 3rd time I had the "Captain's Special Salad" with added fresh Salmon. Although way overpriced at about $18 bucks for lunch- it... More

My husband and I visited this establishment in May to evaluate it for a small June wedding reception for close family...after numerous emails I was assured that they would accomodate us and make our evening pleasant...upon arrival we find the downstairs seating area is not available because of the karaoke dj...the upstairs is booked for an engagement party and the... Lobster Mac and cheese is a must try, and everyone who works there is always very pleasant. Nice place to eat looking out onto Salem harbor.

We came on Halloween and found a table where we could actually have a conversation. Or waitress was the best I think we have ever had anywhere (and we have been lots of anywheres). The food was delicious and the prices were appropriate. I will definitely come back. If they can hit a home run on Halloween in Salem I... More

Calimari was soggy, only had 1 beer on tap, wings seemed like they were microwaved, flies flying around, however the clam chowder was great. Will not be returning here.

We saw good reviews for the lobster bisque and it was delicious. It had a great flavor and Wesley took very good care of us.

We visited the weekend before Halloween. Very, very busy. Waited about 45 min. for a table. Seated with a beautiful view of the wharf. Food was pricey, as expected, but very good. You could tell it was a bit rushed, but overall very good. My only complaint was that my mashed potatoes were instant - not what should be served... More

We stopped by not thinking we could have dinner there because of the monstruous croud in Salem that night, but we wered seated within 15 minutes! Service was OK. In a rush, the server was very loud and did not listen to questions as she shoud have, but overall, NY strip was very good!
