Delicious take away

I can only speak for the quiche. We had the 9 inch broccoli which was delicious. The crust was tender and the broccoli florets were not overcooked. One unusual touch with the quiche was the upiquitous topping of cheese (cheddar) on top. I am accustomed to the cheese being inside the actual quiche... read more

If you are looking for truly good home made food, Periwinkles in Salem is the best out there. You know how when you see already prepared food it looks great but when you get it home and taste it, somehow it does not taste as good as it looks- not with Periwinkles, it always tastes as good as it looks.... I love love love it here. They have an excellent selection of homemade soups, salads, sandwiches, quiche, baked goods and much more. I am fortunate to work right down the street from this hidden gem. I get lunch here at least once a week. Oh and be sure to try the Multigrain bread!!

We often go in the morning for freshly made muffins and coffee. We also eat lunch there a few times a week. The soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts are always fresh and always delicious. Unless you have an absolutely HUGE appetite, half a sandwich is more than enough! There are also specials each day in addition to the regular menu.... More

I could not have made it through high school without Periwinkles. Whether it was my favorite pistachio muffin and iced coffee before school in the mornings, or a nice hot piece of quiche in the afternoon paired with one of Periwinkles world class chocolate chip cookies, Periwinkles was my go-to stop in high school at least once a day. Now... More

I started going on a regular basis when I became a sales rep for my job. When I say that every customer I have requests that I bring lunch from Periwinkles I would NOT be exaggerating. Ann, Katie and the rest of the crew do an amazing job with catering orders. I have never been disappointed. If you are looking... More

This is our favorite venue for lunch. Soups, salads, sandwiches (which are very large) are all excellent. So are the desserts, esp. the chocolate chip cookies. Warning, portions are large. A half sandwich is often large enough for two people. They are open for breakfast, but the menu is more limited.

Sandwiches are made to order. Real deli type sandwiches. The broccoli and bacon saled is great as a side.

We are in Salem every summer and never miss periwinkles. They make the best, largest sandwiches. I recommend the tuna fish or chicken salad. Their breads are delicious. This summer we made a large order of ten sandwiches with specific desires for each one and they made them perfectly. Staff is friendly. Highly recommend! Perfect to take on a picnic.

I have catered two parties using Periwinkles and have been very pleased with the quality of the food. My guests also raved about the food, especially the goat cheese, baby spinach and strawberry salad and the mac and cheese. The staff is helpful in their suggestions. I highly recommend their catering services.
