Great funky neighborhood place in downtown Salem. Have been here several times for breakfasts. Great service, never had a bad meal. The crepes are unbelievable as are all the breakfast sandwiches.

There are quite a few places to grab coffee in Salem, but we've tried Gulu-Gulu a number of times because it comes pretty highly recommended. I always feel cramped when visiting (it's extremely popular, and being crowded should't be a negative, it means other people like it!) but I think it's a bit TOO trendy and lacks warmth. Also our... This cafe only serves breakfast, sandwiches and pancakes/crepes so don't expect a full blown restaurant menu. The menu is fairly innovative and they offer a variety of delicious flavoured coffees. It also has a bar and live music every night so its a pleasant place to while a few hours away

Didn't feel like making dinner, so we headed to this local spot. What a disappointment. Both food and service were lousy. Two hours in the restaurant for two sandwiches, a cup of tea and hot chocolate. Very infrequent visits to the table by our waitress. We were there on a Thursday night, the place was reasonably full, and they had... More

Good place. The food is great. Funky hipster setting. I felt young and cool just sitting at Gulu even though I don't have tattoos or piercings. The cordon bleu crepe was big enough for two. The house salad dressing was good. I also got a dish of pickled kielbasa, onions and hot peppers served cold. Sounds crazy, but I've never... More

When we arrived a few in our party were disappointed in the limited menu. But once they read through the menu and chose something they were very happy. The Munich Panini was extremely good. So was the artichoke dip. Make sure you use the bathroom because there is amazing urban art in the hallways.

This is a great little place. It has an excellent selection of really great craft beers that you just can't get everywhere and some really tasty gourmet food too. Prices are decent and service is average. They can get really busy at peak times. Definitely a place to go though if you are a beer drinker. Right in the middle... More

Great little cafe with a comfortable atmosphere. The server was a friendly guy who was very helpful. The breakfast that I had was a delicious crepe and my son had great looking breakfast sandwich. The food was delivered quickly and with a smile. I will definitely be back to try lunch.
