Simple yet incredible Mexican food

Juanitos is a brightly decorated, and painted, Mexican food restaurant on Grant Road near I10. I've been eating there since the early 1990's. One day I even left my wallet at home and the owner said, "That's ok. Pay the next time". The food is simple and excellent. I usually order a bean... read more

Food was ok. I had expected more. I got a taco menu with head meat from beef. Made my own little tacos. Beans were great, as was the rice. The rest was just ok. I also ordered a quesadilla with cheese that was really good.

Heard about this place in my search for Tacos al Pastor, it was very highly rated. Maybe the cook had an off day but mine were way over done and almost un chewable. On the other hand my wife had the Carnitas plate and the pork was excellent. Oh well, win some, lose some.

We went here based on all the rave reviews on several sites, and so were surprised to find we thought it just ok. Not bad, not great in all respects. It was very clean. The food was mediocre and the portions were a little small. FYI - No beer served.

This place is a dive; for the most part a clean dive. Staff is very accommodating. Food is good, but nothing to jump and shout about. Carne asada had a bunch of weird grizzly, connective tissue, joint-cartilage matter in it. Otherwise, tasty if you can handle that. We ordered the tostada and carne asada. Average size helping. Average food. Cost... More

give me flavor, give me spice, give me music, but instead you offered me a cold desolate place for a Friday evening. This place screams out sacrifice and I cannot help it but to think that the other patrons who have submitted good to excellent reviews must be as bland as the food at juanitos. bottom line....tasteless food, cold ambiance,... Stopped by for the first time last week. This place is clean, the staff is efficient, and we had yummy burritos in no time, even with the place being packed. Can't beat the prices. I can see this becoming a monthly lunch time stop.

This is the ONLY place I will eat Mexican food in Tucson. It's authentic and delicious. The price is very reasonable considering the portions you get. One of the few places that makes their cabeza tacos and menudo right! It's not a fancy restaurant but the food is totally worth it. If you want authentic, affordable, delicious Mexican food, look... Very nice food, staff and location. Walk up counter to order, good AL pastor, quite in expensive. Smooth tasty, creamy beans. Nice spicy carrots. We both liked it

Cabeza and Al pastor tacos were outstanding. Very fresh, very yummy meat and salsa. Menu is so interesting (I am a novice with this type of Mexican food), so many great combinations that you can have. We will have to come back in cooler months and try the variety of soups (mostly fish and shrimp) and also menudo. Clean, bright... More
