Friendly people and good sushi

I have eaten sushi many times before, but never alone at the sushi counter. I was unsure of the protocols (if any), but the chefs were very friendly, and so were the locals with whom I conversed. Be sure to read the walls. Many items are hand written on paper and posted around the restaurant that... read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat when I'm in Tucson. I don't eat sushi, but I get the Teriyaki Chicken & Vegetable Tempura Combo, which comes with miso soup, rice, potato salad, and regular salad. The others get a variety of excellent sushi. This time we also got their coconut sorbet for dessert. It had a hint... More

The service was friendly and helpful. The sushi was fresh-est and tasty! Miso soup was hot and perfect! What more can be said?'

We arrived in Tucson on a Tuesday night and my wife was too tired to go out for food. So, I decided to go out for a little bit of sushi (she doesn't like sushi). In a nearby shopping plaza, I noticed Sachiko Sushi. What a wonderful find. Sat at the sushi bar and ordered a teriffic assortment of sushi.... More

This is the third time in the last few months that my wife and I have eaten dinner at Sachiko Sushi. Each time I've tried something different but my wife always gets the Chirashi. Tonight I tried the fresh conch sashimi. The texture was crisp but chewy while the flavor was mild. I also had the cucumber salad and an... More

We had excellent sushi. They have the usual things like California rolls and kappa maki, but also have unusual ones. The waitstaff is attentive. One of our party who does not eat sushi tried the chicken teriyaki and tempura combination which she enjoyed. Another person ordered fried rice to eat in addition to his sushi and he said that it... There are lots of local hotels nearby, so if you are on business in Tucson, this is a good choice for within walking distance. Nothing fancy decor-wise, pretty standard Chinese restaurant looking. Sushi is OK, nothing special. But a hungry road warrior has to eat somewhere and this is better than McDonald's.

It's a small Mom and Pop feel with an open cafeteria atmosphere. The food is excellent and my friends love the sushi. The wait was all friendly, but it took forever and forever to get anything at all.

Very good, fresh, high quality sushi served here. You won't be disappointed. Nice sushi bar and friendly staff. Great variety of non-sushi items also. Their teriyaki dishes are superb and have that nice grilled flavor. It gets pretty busy during both lunch and dinner which is a good indicator so you may want to plan accordingly. Highly recommended.
