Food Piled High, OK Food, Good Service

Biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs were surely a Tucson take, not great, but a Tucson attempt. The sausage was on the side, not in the gravy. The biscuits were good, gravy ok, scrambled eggs kind of bland, and the home fries passable. Weak coffee did not help. Service was friendly but the... read more

Folks go 2 diners for 'comfort food' & this long established eatery fits the bill: large portions, reasonable prices & service w/a smile & no frills. It was originally "Sambo's" in 1964 & has changed owners a few times. I was introduced 2 this place by some close friends & I was impressed by the size & quality of their... More

Best pancakes ever! Crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. Lovely staff and huge portions. Do get there before 2pm!

Was looking for a traditional diner while in Tucson and stumbled across Chaffin's. The staff was very friendly and the food amazing. The portions were huge, everything tasted fresh and was presented very nicely. If you are near this restaurant give it a try, open only until 2PM.

Chaffin's has a nice, dated 60's look to it and old style diner food and and service to match. The servers are friendly and the place is hopping most weekend mornings. The food is good, hot and comes in generous portions. We had several things and all were tasty.

I'd been here for an early cup of coffee in the past, but this was the first time I ordered food. I'd been craving a good breakfast burrito so had one that was filled with bacon, eggs, hash browns and cheese. This was a monster! It filled me up until late afternoon however it was a bit dry. But on... More

Came here with a fairly large group for some coffee and light breakfast snacks. It was certainly nice that they were able to accommodate our group of nine on short notice. Unfortunately the experience turns completely average at this point. Service while friendly was not close to exceptional. Quite frankly it was a bit slow. I shared a plate of... More

This was an okay choice for a place to grab a cup of coffee with some family during a visit to Tucson... The staff was really friendly and it definitely embodied the concept of a 'family restaurant!' All I ordered was tea, so I can't comment on the food but the tea was a bit of a strange experience. They... More

They do a great job with eggs, waffles, french toast, and biscuits and gravy. My biscuit sandwich with egg, avocado, swiss, and tomato was delicious and light enough I could sample everyone else's choices. Yes it is plain inside like any real diner, no there weren't as many choices as the Hacienda del Sol Sunday brunch we went to the... More
