wonderful food, beautiful view

This restaurant is the dinner spot for the Ventana Canyon Resort in the Catalina Mountain foothills. It is great food with the bonus of a gorgeous view. Reservations a must. Open for dinner only.

The view is beautiful and service was great. But I felt the food was just mediocre. My husband had the special ribeye with shrimp & fingerling potatoes. The steak was fatty and tough, and the shrimp were boring. My ribs were flavorful but very dry. Next time we will just have drinks and enjoy the view. For $50 a plate,... More

We ate here on Saturday night. Staff and service were excellent but we were disappointed in food. Nightly fish special was fishy and chicken dish dry.

Minimum $40 per person, not very large portions and if its not cooked right they bring it back but the rest of your meal is cold since they don't bring any new warn potatoes with the re-cooked meat.

We ate at this Hotel Restaurant (at the Loews Ventana) because we didn't want to drive into town. We were surprised that it was quite good and the atmosphere was very lively. They make their own guacamole right in front of you at your table. You can choose the ingredients. Very cool. Service was friendly and the Southwest food is... More

Stopped by for a bite to eat. Walked in and was quickly given a seat. Ordered a bacon cheese burger and fries. The burger bun was freshly and and melts in your mouth. The entire meal was excellent, but a bit pricey.

Our party consisted of 6 adults and 3 children 5 and under! They brought the kids food out first which started with a fun fruit plate. The selections were pricey but well worth it. I had the Ahi tuna with asparagus and it was cooked to perfection. My wife order a burger which also very good. One of the best... More

I made a reservation in advance and got a nice table overlooking the view of Tucson. The service was excellent. Prices were high but that was no secret. Ordered the restaurant's special which was table made guacamole. It was $18 but a large amount (2 avocados). They must have added lemon juice because the leftovers (nice container) was good the... We returned to the Flying V about three years after our last visit and are delighted to report that it was just as good, if not better! The food was really creative and flavoursome and the table side guacamole was excellent. Our server, John, was really knowledgable about the drinks menu too and recommended some local beers and specialist tequilas... More
