Good Cheap Steak without the Drive out of Town

I was visiting my wife who left me in cold and damp Washington, DC and retired in sunny dry Tucson! We had had a fabulous Sunday brunch at the Grill at Hacienda del Sol and planned to visit the Chaparral Steak House in the evening which was way out of town. Well we never felt hungry the rest of... read more

Wanted a salad, steak and baked potato, so came here. It was OK, nothing special. The salad was decent, the strip steak a bit on the tough side. The bake potato was good and the beans were different. Not a cowboy style but more along the barbeque type. The price was reasonable and the service was good. I'd probably try... More

In a small strip mall. Service was excellent. My food was rather tasteless. My meat was dry and tough. Some others in our group did seem to enjoy their food more than others did. Seems like a somewhat popular neighborhood place that has been around a long time.

Have eaten here many times over the years. Great service and food. Outstanding prices too. Had the t-bone last week and it was fantastic. Nothing fancy here, just quality food in a nice western setting. Don't let the outside of the building fool you. You'll like this place!

Cody's Beef and Beans is a weekly destination for this Tucsonan. Try the steak sandwich , hamburgers, or excellent steaks. The best thousand island dressing I have eaten should be ordered for your salads. This family -owned restaurant is one of our favorite restaurants in Tucson, Arizona.

My husband and I made a New Year's Resolution to start eating at some of the time honored places in Tucson that we have not yet tried. Cody's Beef'n Beans has been a round since 1988 so you know they must be doing something right. I love the interior with the great Western decor and it is spotlessly clean. We... More

Based on reviews, we tried this place. If I had not known about this place, I would have just driven by. It is in a strip mall sort of place and non-descript on the outside. The inside is spacious, clean and inviting. We both had the hamburgers. They were some of the best: nicely seasoned, flavorful and juicy. The salad... More

We heard about this from friends. We tried it. Excellent. Family owned and operated for several generations. The filet was perfectly cooked, and the ribs were tender and meaty - fantastic. Nice place. We will go back there.

Went here with friends-first time there. Their prices are very reasonable and their specials are a great deal. Dinner specials are only $12.95 Mon-Thurs. We went Thursday for the prime rib (8 oz) special. Noticed on Friday and Sat there is a 12 oz. T-bone special. You have to eat at the restaurant and hours the special is offered is... More

Big steaks, delicious sides, cold beer, friendly service, and a southwest/cowboy theme that doesn't come across as kitchy. My daughter and I split the 1 lb rib eye special, beans, and steak fries. Along with the bread and salad this was more than enough food for two. When I come back to Tucson this place will be on my list... More
