Long time Tucson favorite

Hadn't been here in awhile until recently when I went with family for Mother's Day. It's as I remembered it which is nice. It's not a large restaurant but there are 2 rooms. The margaritas were very good. The chips were nice-very salty though. I had a shredded beef chimichanga and it was very... read more

This is a Mexican restaurant that I was told to be the best in Tucson. I rated to very good but I don't think it's that more outstanding then some of the other Mexican Restaurants I have dined at.

Whenever I make a trip to Tucson, I have to go to lunch at El Minuto!!! ALL of their lunch specials are wonderful but usually my friend and I order the # 1 beef tacos and the # 6 cheese enchiladas and share. Their cheese crisps are the best anywhere, not to mention the red chili beef meal! ANYTHING that... More

Cute little restaurant tucked away on the south side of the Convention Center. The food is yummy. Loved the salsa, just the right amount of spice. The cheese crisp with everything (carne seca, onions, green chiles, cheese, guacamole) is so good! The service is decent. The waiters are all very friendly. The price? Kind of on the high side. Most... More

My expectations were a bit higher than they should have been, but it was still a good experience. If that the food was on the same level as the service which was excellent. Not bad food at all, but only a bit above average. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt though because not every meal at any restaurant... More

We went in the restaurant about noon on a Saturday and the place was PACKED. I was a bit worried because often when a place is so full you loose some of the hospitality or quality. Even at the peak of the day, there was no loss of either. The food was outstanding and the service was great. It's near... More

We were past the lunch special time, but they gave it to us anyway. Great salsa, good guacamole & warm chips. Good service & good food. Quick, friendly & a decent meal. I had the topopo chicken salad--very fresh & crispy. My husbands favorite standby, beef tacos. We've driven by hundreds of times & finally stopped in today. Glad we... More

I would have rated this lower except for the friendly, quick, attentive service. The food was barely average and often below. For example, the chips were far too salty. Some proved to be inedible because they were covered with salt -- literally. The salsa was the worst I've ever had. It certainly didn't taste like anything homemade from scratch. There... More

After living almost 20 yrs. in Tucson, my family and I finally decided to try this place as it was conveniently located near the Convention Center. Unfortunately, the food and service were both quite bland. The salsa sauce tasted like it simply came from a tasteless tomato can sprinkled with a bottle of some flavorless hot sauce. The chicken burrito... More

Went here on the recommendation of a friend who grew up in Tucson and he hit the nail on the head. Local color and flavor - solid Mexican food and reasonably priced. Not the typical tourist place but close to downtown. Give it a shot.
