A local in the restaurant told us that this restaurant was a family run business and that she had been coming to eat for 30 years! The cheese crisp with carne seca was delicious and enough for two or three people to eat. I would go back and eat there tomorrow if I didn't live in Maryland!

This was recommended by our concierge at the hotel when I asked for a good place to get authentic Mexican food on a budget. Very good.

I couldn't wait to get back to El Minuto for their Chimichunga but this time, it wasn't as wonderful as last May (2013). I ate out in the patio, with birds on all the chairs waiting for droppings. The patio is well-screened but very close to sidewalk and cars, so not really an "atmosphere," but it is what it is.... More

My daughter and I ate at this poor- excuse-for a Mexican restaurant yesterday (10/31/14). The place was packed. Apparently, these people don't have any "taste" (pun). To start with, the salsa was a joke!Tomato sauce with a "kick". They give you a small dish of OK chips. I ordered a tostada (Topopo) $10.95. I was presented with a mound of... More

It had been a few years since I last came here. Nothing has changed. The combination of its nifty location at the edge of the historic barrio just south of the Convention Center, it's decor, and excellent menu all work together perfectly. The salsa is mild like a tomato sauce with some powdered chile in it. The bottled sauce on... More

We were told about this restaurant by some local people at the airport. Driving to the place we were wondering where in the world have they sent us, this is not an elegant restaurant by any means but oh my goodness is the food delicious! This is some of the best Mexican food I have ever eaten. You must try... More

Since I've started doing this, more apt to follow thru on writing up a bad experience than giving credit where it's due. That is certainly the case for El Minuto in downtown Tucson, my go to Mexican lunch restaurant in a town famous for it's Mexican restaurants. We average eating here at least once a week. Never disappointed. Although the... More

This is one restaurant I do not miss whenever I am in Tucson. They have the best cheese crisp anywhere. Often I try to hit this restaurant a least twice when I am in town

We went to El Minuto's because I like their refried beans. The food was very good and the service is top-notch. There is inside and outside seating and the outside seating is great because it's completely covered.
