I went to Mi Nidito on a Sunday night on the advice of a tour guide. Perhaps it was because of what I ordered, but I am really not sure why so many people are willing to wait 45 minutes to over 1 ½ hours for a table here. First, a parking lot attendant, dressed in black, talking on his... More

The city where I live has mediocre Mexican food, so when I was planning a trip through Tucson I wanted to try the best I could find. (Dinner was not an option, which eliminated one prominent contender.) Mi Nidito gets many enthusiastic reviews. For Sunday lunch we waited 20 minutes. Not a big deal. The menu is standard Sonoran fare--burritos,... More

The reviews here are cracking me up, as so many of the semi-negative ones are unsubstantiated or ill-founded. I feel I must respond to some of the commentary here. Yes, there's a wait - there often is in places THAT ARE GOOD and don't rip you off! Police in the parking lot? Ok... it's busy & it's not the best... More

A twenty minute wait for a weekday lunch tells you how popular this restaurant is. It has a lot of history and a traditional Sonoran menu. The chili renellenos are the best item on the menu. The margaritas are some of the worst in the southwest so order the (non-alcoholic) horchata which is excellent.

If you are in Tucson and love mexican food don't miss Mi Nidito. We went based on other Trip Advisor reviewers information and loved it. The portions are large. Be sure to come hungry. We went on a Wednesday night and it was quite busy but there was only a short wait. It was definitely worth it.

Mi Nidito is a real treat. Exceptional food, nice atmosphere. Don't expect traditional Mexican food...plenty of that nearby. Do expect cuisine that will challenge your senses and please your palette. Lunch is great too; a little more laid back.

We went tonight at 8:30 on a Thrusday night and the wait was about 30 minutes. The great thing was we were served a couple beers, not bothered about paying, and the wait went very quickly. The guac is comparable to guac from Mexico and the Albondigas (meatball) soup was very good! Service was a lil slow, but it was... More

We're from Los Angeles, so we've experienced the best Mexican food. But I have to say, Mi Nidito is the best yet!!! My daughter had shredded beef tacos & rice. I had the shredded beef burrito enchilada style and rice. Both entrees were incredible. The beef is so flavorful and tender. The rice is the best Mexican rice I've ever... More

We had a local couple tell us to go to Mi Nidito and we were quite pleased. As the last reviewer inaccurately reported they did not serve cottage cheese in their guacamole-it is grated Mexican cheese! I bet Chi Chis back in the day did the same thing! We did have about a 30 min wait on a Sunday evening-and... More

My husband and I ate there tonight. We waited about 40 minutes for a table and had a good margarita. The entertainment came from STPD who came in to review tapes of am incident that occurred in the parking lot. We ordered the 1 dinner to share. First , the salsa was aweful- spicy and the only other flavor was... More
