Chips and Salsa are Funtastic, Great Happy hour

I have heard so much about this place. Parking can be a bit of a Pain. I know a lot and can walk the couple of blocks to park. Happy Hour was a fun menu. They have small samplers - 3 for $5 - a great deal and fun way to sample. They make their own chips - so thin... read more

Great food, great service! We visited on memorial day and happened to hit the restaurant at a lull between lunch and dinner ... around 3:30pm. We were seated immediately without a wait, there were five us, including two kids. Our waiter immediately came and introduced himself and took awesome care of us!! He wad from Hermosillo originally and spoke to... More

This is the oldest restaurant in Tucson - food and ambience all together. Don't miss trying the Carne Seca- this is the only place to get it!

El charro was recommended to us by several people from different places do we figured it was worth a try. There are several entrances but only one gets you seated and it's not specially marked nor were they very helpful about it so that was confusing and off putting. Once we did get in, all was forgiven. There is indoor... More

I thought the food was very good, and it's cool decor inside the old house. Plus there's an outside patio and separate bar (not sure if part of house or separate structure). But place did not have a friendly vibe at all. Waiter was just a robot, and I don't think even offered us a 2nd drink. Not the fun... More

El Charro welcomes you into an old Hacienda... decorated in a Mexican Flare.... and is delightful. The wait staff made sure that our food was good and hot and our table was right by a window so that we could enjoy the outdoors as we dined. We have gone back and taken others with us. VERY GOOD

Maybe it is because several from group I was going to this restaurant with had raved about the food and atmosphere, but I was underwhelmed. It isn't that the food and drinks were bad, just nothing to write home about.

Menu with a wide variety of choices of authentic Mexican food from both central Mexico and along the border. You will enjoy just about everything.

We did get set in a corner on a little table that wobbled. That said, the first thing our waiter did was to stabilize the table and provided us with excellent care. The food was amazing. My date had fajitas and I had a chimichanga. We both agreed they were some of the best we had ever had. I highly... More

Very favorite restaurant in Tucson, very colorful and centrally located, but although a lot of people frequent this place, the service is not the best, and the food does not impress me greatly. But, it is fun to eat there because of the atmosphere, like in the old days (1930?).
