New taste experience at lunch

We found El Charro Cafe (Originial) as we hit Tuscan for a short visit. We got there during the weekday late lunch period and were seated immediately and given chips and salsa. I had the 2 Tamale plate (Fresh Corn & Chicken Tomatillo) and my husband tried the Carne Seca Plate. Both were... read more

This restaurant is beautiful, situated in its original site dating back to the 1800's. Food was fair... I had a chimichanga, supposedly created here. It was ok... my wife loved the quesadilla. We went here as part of a trip into old town Tucson and the artisan's quarter, which ended up being a lot smaller than expected.

We appreciated the environment and staff. We sat at the bar, where, though very busy, our servers were attentive.

Food was better than average, presentation was good, service was a little slow but could have been a little friendlier. The specialty drinks were beautiful and enticing. Ambience was festive and colorful, but a bit too noisey. So it was OK but not one I would frequent, but this is more a personal choice. I recommend you try it and... More

It wasn't my first time here but by far the best. While the service started out sketchy, the server on the patio took care of our needs very efficiently and effectively. Come for the food but savor the sun on the patio with your favorite drink. It was worth every dime on a lazy Saturday afternoon. The food was outstanding;... More

I approched the owner of El Charro to see if thirty bikers and a few wives on Harley Davidsons could eat here. ( we had to leave the bikes outside though). They were more than happy to have us and it was a great night. The food(mexican) came quickly and it was lovely followed by a beer or two, the... More

We dined with 4 friends after hearing El Charro invented the chimichanga, we had high expectations. We were delighted that the hype was true. We had a pitcher of their house margaritas and the guacamole. All very good. For the main dish various different order, everyone had nothing but good things to say.
