A relaxed atmosphere with several areas, some busy some quiet. Good food and friendly bar staff willing to sing the praises of fine Tequila and compare it to good Scotch whisky

You cannot miss this cafe...the lively colors painted on the building make sure of this!! El Charro is a busy place and with good reason....great food and large portions. It's a great place to eat lunch or dinner but time it right since it is a very busy restaurant in the historic district of Tucson. Buen Provecho

We don't have authentic Mexican food in our area so we made a point of eating at Mexican restaurants recommended by locals. The food and service was incredible. We went twice in two days. Very reasonable.

Good dependable Mexican food. Used to eat here twenty years. The beans and rice are great. The crane SECAM is not as good asi remember it.

It actually looked a little like rain when we went for lunch, so we sat inside for the first time. It's hard for me to find carne seca, so I always get it here. This time carne seca enchiladas. Sampler plate for the spouse. Nothing fancy, just great Mexican food. We did manage to have a beer on the patio.... More

This place never fails to impress! The carne seca was wonderful! Carne seca is a dried beef that is shredded then chopped into fine pieces. It is a bit salty and has peppers, onions, and tomatoes in it. Flan for dessert.....yum. In downtown Tucson

We've been to the original El Charro three times. The food is delicious, but do not order a margarita. They are watery and tasteless. It tastes like ice has melted in a pitcher all day. The Skinny margarita is the worst, but the regular is almost as bad and tastes like a glass of watery orange juice. I first sent... More

Great service, loads of free parking on weekends, variety of Mexican food made to order and not out of a can, even have late breakfast on weekends, and the outside bar next to the restaurant was really really nice, real comfort!

We just came back from one of our favorite Mexican restaurants, El Charro. It is an historic restaurant and is a should be on every visitor's list. As always the food was great and the service was perfect. During the summer months the restaurant offers several great meals for $5.00, although that is not what we chose to eat this... More
