At the recommendation of our innkeeper, we chose El Charro Original location for an early dinner. We requested the patio and were seated quickly. We started with fresh guacamole, chips and salsa. I had the two taco meal, one beer batter fish and one chicken. My husband had the quesadillas. Everything was delicious. I only wish I had gotten two... More

This was an excellent restaurant but the waiting list was long and the bar was full. So be prepared to wait but well worth the wait. Good service and great food.

The food was excellent, plentiful portions. The restaurant is in a home, that the owners previously lived in. Walking distance to Museum of Art and shopping. Went there twice in 4 days.

My family and I stopped for lunch and it was well worth it. You have to try anything with the Carne seca they make on site. The environment and wait staff rounded off a great lunch experience for us.

This had been billed as an up-market Mexican restaurant which incorporated some fine dining offerings. The setting, for both inside and outside dining, was promisingly attractive. The menu, however, was depressingly predictable, save for it's purportedly famous carne saco, based around sun-dried shredded beef. Our meals were all good, with generous portions, but - including the unusual carne saco -... More

Very tasty, they have some house specialties that go far beyond the standard Mexican Fare. Reasonable Prices and the Cheese Crisp is like a large corn chip pizza. Make a great appetizer. The place has been in business with the same family since 1922 and they are doing it right.

Ate hear after hiking through Saguaro National Park (east). Food was very good and authentic. A very nostalgic building. Happy hour specials for original margherita and guacamole was well worth the price. Thought the overall value was excellent.

This classic Tucson restaurant was well appreciated after a day of hiking the parks in the area. They offered an extensive menu selection and margarita choices if you choose. They can get quite busy during the tourist season so expect a wait or arrive early if you can.

OK, this would be a 3 star rating if not for a great bartender (and seats at the bar during a long wait) and an equally great server in the upstairs dining room. No doubt this is a busy place and one is not filled with confidence about how the evening is going to turn out. In fact, had not... More
