No better restaurant in Arizona

The lady who owns and operates Cafe Poca Cosa is a genius. The cooking is all mexican but not Sonoran or Tex Mex so only those who have traveled to Mexico will have a good idea what they are in for…which is pure eating bliss. Chiles with flavors that you have never tasted, some hot some not, are... read more

The food is delicious. Previous reviewers have explained how the menu works, and despite the limited selection there is a variety (chicken, beef, port, seafood, vegetarian) and probably something to please most everyone. The food is fresh and the flavors are wonderful, although definitely not your typical tacos, burritos, tamales kind of Mexican food. The creativity and depth of flavors... More

Cafe Poca Cosa is not your typical tacos and tostadas, they specialize in a higher end style of food using the freshest ingredients found daily in Tucson markets. The menu changes 2 times a day, and consist of 10 - 12 entrees, 2-3 beef, 1-2 pork, 1-2 chicken, usually a fish selection, and always a vegetarian option with choice of... More

An old standby in Tucson. Mexican but Central Mexico, not TexMex that most people connect with Mexican restaurants. We went for a late lunch around 4 pm after a matinee and were offered lunch prices at a nice table in this contemporary styled dining room. While the food, ambience and price were all on the positive side, the service was... More

We are from Texas, so Tex Mex is our regular Mexican food. The cusina at Poca Cosa is certainly not TexMex and that is good. It is very much Sonoran fine food. Some friends were in Tucson at the same time we were and they also went to the restaurant. Speaking to one of them later he called it the... More

This restaurant is not for you if you enjoy reviewing a menu, thinking about the choices to be made, and selecting an interesting wine. The menus here are on a portable blackboard, not particularly legible and with the name of the dish only, which the wait staff brings to your table, holds in front of you and explains at top... I have been going to Cafe Poca Cosa for over 25 years, since it was in a previous location near the Tucson Community Center. It has never ceased to amaze me, a restaurant that changes its menu twice a day, bases menu items on what is fresh and available and consistently serving up easily some of the best food in... More

This restaurant had amazing food, great service, and upscale atmosphere. We truly enjoyed it and will be back. Between the three of us, we ordered two entrees and the combo plate with three entrees so we sampled 5 altogether. Every one was mouthwatering delicious. From a mole, to a vegetarian dish, to a pork dish, an asada and a chicken... More

Café Poca Cosa has to be some of the best true Mexican food in Southern Arizona. In fact, as a person who has dined in some of Mexico City's finest restaurants, I would rate my lunch meal as the best Mexican food I've ever had outside of that city. If you're looking for a cumin-laden burrito smothered in cheese, save... More

We stopped there for a meal around 5:30pm (kind of early for them) after looking up online. Place is interesting, but missed our expectations especially as a quality of food. None of the 3 dishes we selected were above average. Price was on a higher side and I know for this price I would prefer to be at many other... More
