This restaurant serves up delicious, Oaxacan-influenced Mexican food. Don't expect tacos and burritos, but do expect wonderful fresh ingredients with amazing, complex sauces. Salad and seasonal fruits come with each plate, and you can sample some pretty tasty Margaritas, too. I always order the plata, a selection of three different dishes of the chef's choice - I've never had anything... More

The restaurant is unique in that the menu changes twice a day. The waiter who served us (Jeff) was very knowledgeable about the food, which is particularly impressive if they do change the menu often. The food itself was well-prepared and tasty. The portion size was reasonable but was not too big. It has a really nice ambience, both in... More

This is the restaurant we choose when meeting friends downtown. The menu rotates nightly and the cuisine is an interesting mix of Mexican, Spanish and Southwest fusion. Try the chefs 3 entree special to experience the variety in the offerings. Definitely one of Tucson's best and most unusual dining experiences.

This is a unique restaurant with Mexican cuisine unlike any i had experienced before. The menu changes twice daily and is written on a blackboard that is carried by the server and explained to diners at each table. Many of us had the Chef's Special--a sampling of three of the entrees of the day. The food is not spicy, but... More

The menu is anything but ordinary in this trendy restaurant that has been a Tucson gem for years. The selection of offerings varies daily in order to give diners a chance to sample the freshest dishes dreamed up by gifted chefs. Servers are well trained to answer questions about the menu and how the dishes are prepared. The adventurous diner... More

Cafe Poca Cosa has been regarded as one of the finest restaurants in Tucson since it opened (20 years ago. The food is creative and delicious and the atmosphere relaxed and pleasant. Nice location for before-theater meals, or after. Strongly recommended.

Cafe Poca Cosa was, I believe, the first Mexican restaurant written up in Gourmet magazine (although in a different location at the time). Wonderful food (same menu at lunch costs less). Vegetarian option. Would recommend the Plato, a chef's choice sampling of three entrees as a good place to start. However, any mole dish is always wonderful. Served with large... More

This is an unique restaurant, hand written menu each day and it changes twice daily. The chief chooses what will be prepared each day, it is fresh, unique, and best of all great tasting. Order the Chiefs special, it will be unknown but it will be great. The service is friendly and will explain any foods you do not know.... More

Cafe Poca Cosa is one of those places that you go every time you want to celebrate a special occasion or just give yourself or someone else a very special treat. The atmosphere is like no other here in Tucson, upscale yet inviting with warm charming waitresses and waiters who all seem to have learned Spanish as a second language... More

We had pretty good expectations based on reviews. The service was a bit spotty. The concept of the chalkboard menu was irritating as I prefer to have my own copy of the menu so I can study the descriptions and have to remember everything the server is rattling off. My biggest concern was that beef I ordered was chewy; that's... More
