Great Steak and fun Atmosphere

The sea, ribs and chicken include diner salad, pinto beans and garlic toast. The steak is grilled to order on a mesquite grill which gives it a wonderful flavor. The entrance to the restrooms are unique and fun. This restaurant has been at its location for a very long time and it is a crowd... read more

Since I used to live in Tucson 30 years ago, and frequented Lil Abners back then, I wanted to treat my friends to a great steak on our last night in town. The steaks here used to be the best! What a disappointment. I ordered the 16 oz t-bone. Tough and grisly with lots of fat. One of my friends... More

The steak was fine along with the rustic setting, but the menu felt a little gouging. 30+ for the 16oz T-Bone and 40+ for the 2 lb. porterhouse....(not bad but a little high). The steak was good but not great. The beans were lacking in taste. The kicker......they charge $6 per person for splitting meals....in a place that is known... More

Some of my friends go there when they are on business in Tucson. Go there in October and eat under the stars on rustic picnic tables. they will cook the steak t your liking, (even Pittsburgh style, seared and cold inside)

Every time we visit Tucson we make a point of coming here at least once. We have brought many friends and family members over the years and have always recommended to try it at least once because of the ambiance and the food. This past February we brought our friends who had never been to Arizona. While the meat is... More

Much of the seating here is outside, menu very limited, did enjoy the ribs and steak dishes but value is not there. There is interesting history, but this place seems to be lost in the past without updating. Entertainment provided via guitar player who could not sing

When we lived in Tucson in the late 1970s, Li'l Abner's was out in the middle of the desert northwest of town. We loved going there because the meat was grilled outside on mesquite and the smell was out of this world. Forty+ years later, it still survives and although it is no longer out in the boonies, its charm... More

We've been to Li'l Abner's multiple times in Tucson. We typically go more for the setting and atmosphere than the food. It is pricey with a limited menu and the food is not great, but it's a fun atmosphere especially if you go after dark when the band is playing, the fire is burning and you can smell the steaks... Returned after reading mixed reviews on tripadvisor. Expensive entrees with sides of beans, garlic bread and some type of salsa. Skip the overcooked beef ribs. They really need to kick it up a notch. Especially the service.
