I've been to Los Portales several times but this one was different. My husband and I went to have lunch on Sunday after church... I ordered a tortilla soup and it was DELICIOUS! then I had 2 tacos and they were not great at all. I don't want to give them a bad score, but don't try tacos dorados... everything... More

A delicious Sunday Buffet with all the typical foods, menudo, chorizo con huevo. It's the real stuff oh and I can't forget the mariachi trio that plays great favorites while you enjoy great food. Worth the drive!

We stopped here for lunch because we were getting our tire fixed across the street at Discount Tire. We were very pleasantly surprised as we had not ventured out much in Tucson for food. The menu offers the typical mexican fare but they also have different buffets (breakfast and lunch). We all went for the buffet in order to get... More

Camarones Fantasia is outstanding. This dish alone has brought us back multiple times. But, let's get serious ... The facility itself has seen better days. The food and the service are a quite 'variable'; with the exception of the Camarones Fantasia, we've had the same item on different nights and had very good to below average reactions to the item.... First time at this restaurant. Complimentary chips and salsa were fine. The guacamole was the best I ever tasted. The main dishes were only average. The Carne Asada the two companions had was rather bland. The pork I had was fatty and hunks of gristle in it. The service started out ok, but the waitress became rather flipped with us... More

Our hotel called in our reservation on Friday night for our party of 23. We arrived and our table was all set up and ready. There was a lady who makes fresh, and may I say DELICIOUS, guacamole right next to the table. I had a 3 item plate- fish taco (best I've ever had!), a tamale, and a cheese... More

We were in town with family, but eat a lot of Mexican food at various places in Phoenix, Tucson and all over the country. We ate here on the recommendation of our son's friend. It was a Friday night at 7:30 and we were seated immediately. There was a very good mariachi band, but that can make it difficult to... More

I went with my family for lunch. After some confusion as to who was going to seat us, we were seated at a booth. There was leftover food on the table which the server did wipe off. The table was sticky and tacky. The window was covered in handprints. Eventually we our order was taken by the busser. The food... More

Everything we tried in this restauaant has been excellent, My husband is from Mexico and thought the food was very good as well. We have been here for breakfast lunch and dinner. The chilaquiles. All the food is fresh and the wait staff have always been attentive. Watching someone making fresh corn tortillas was fun and they taste mighty good.... More

We were staying in Tucson for one night on a vacation and found this restaurant by mistake. What a fabulous mistake! The food was fabulous (we all had various dishes with carne asada), and the Mariachi band that was playing had some of the most talented musicians we've ever seen. The band members were extremely friendly, chatting with customers, asking... More
