Nice change of pace from our usual stops in South Tucson.

Not crowded, but not empty. Clean. Prompt Service and very good food. I had the bruschetta mixto and it was very tasty. My husband had the chili relleno, said it was good. (not much of a food guy, I'm afraid) Their salsa is excellent. Chips were warm and good. Thank Goodness the guacamole had... read more

We went for my birthday brunch at around 11:00 am on a Sunday morning. Mariachis were playing when we walked in. There was only about a 5-6 minute wait for us to get a booth seating four people. The buffet had a cook making omlets to order with plenty of spicy and traditional ingredients. There was a shredded beef soul... More

We found this charming restaurant recently and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Usually lunch buffets are not my favorite, but after seeing this one we tried it and were pleasantly surprised. I saw several different customers take a look at the buffet and then order it. The food is traditional Sonoran style Mexican food: tamales, enchiladas (red and green) mini chimichangas,... More

Their lunch buffet has a great selection and a great price. Buffet has tamales, flautas, beef and chicken tacos, soups and more. Their regular menu items are good to. The tortillas are good. The service was good. Its just a all around good place.

This review is based on their breakfast buffet - a pleasant surprise when we visited yesterday. While we did peruse the full menu, chock full of delicious menu items we decided to go with the breakfast buffet they had in a separate room. I am not sure if they do this every day or just weekends but either way it... More

Whenever we visit Tucson, we're always sure to go to Los Portales for a meal, and they never disappoint. We got there late on a Sunday evening, and the food was hot, fresh, and delicious. Their carne asada is wonderful, and their salsa is amazing!

I've been to Los Portales several times but this one was different. My husband and I went to have lunch on Sunday after church... I ordered a tortilla soup and it was DELICIOUS! then I had 2 tacos and they were not great at all. I don't want to give them a bad score, but don't try tacos dorados... everything... More

A delicious Sunday Buffet with all the typical foods, menudo, chorizo con huevo. It's the real stuff oh and I can't forget the mariachi trio that plays great favorites while you enjoy great food. Worth the drive!

We stopped here for lunch because we were getting our tire fixed across the street at Discount Tire. We were very pleasantly surprised as we had not ventured out much in Tucson for food. The menu offers the typical mexican fare but they also have different buffets (breakfast and lunch). We all went for the buffet in order to get... More

Camarones Fantasia is outstanding. This dish alone has brought us back multiple times. But, let's get serious ... The facility itself has seen better days. The food and the service are a quite 'variable'; with the exception of the Camarones Fantasia, we've had the same item on different nights and had very good to below average reactions to the item....
