Good Choice Near U of A Campus

If you're looking for good food, generous portions, and a fair price near Campus, this is a great option. Very informal place -- foam plates, plastic utensils, etc. But that doesn't matter because the food is the main draw. My favorite dish is the Chicken Katsu Plate -- large breaded chicken... read more

I went to a newer location on the eastside. This is a fast food joint, but for food this tasty, you still have to wait a few minutes. The service was great and the food was fresh and tasty. I got the combo plate where you pick two meats and two sides. The chicken teriyaki were nicely cooked sliced chicken... More

I was looking forward to some Hawaiian highlights. Didn't happen. The menu was interesting enough, but the sterile plastic interior didn't fire my jets. The food came quickly and I was hopeful again. It didn't last long. My oriental salad had chicken that was breaded, dry and scorched. The lettuce was dead. I wish I had not ordered take out... More

Went there twice, got the BBQ Pork once and the split ribs the next time. Both were great, and totally unique in flavor. The pork was especially good...moist, tender, and taste was unlike any other pork BBQ I've had. Prices are reasonable, and the service decent. But, be prepared, this is NOT fast food, just faster than a regular restaurant,... More

Mama's Hawaiian BBQ is a great meal when you don't have too much time to dine. Food is great and the price is right for the amount of food you receive. The hours are great for the college lifestyle.

Located in the busy university area of Tucson, you would expect the service to be more prompt--expect to wait awhile for your food, especially during busy times. Just like any establishment, there are some nice employees and some snobby ones. The food itself is pretty good. I recommend the chicken katsu and the teriyaki beef.

Opened recently in modest sparely furnished well lit premises.i think it forte is take out food at which it excels. Facing the same problem of finding dinner to take home at a reasonable price and prepared within a quick period of time without calling ahead on the east side of Tucson, we stopped because we noticed a new restuarant sign.... Stopped by after the UofA vs ASU game! We had my wife, mom, daughter and myself. I had the big Kahuna and all the meats were tasty and filling with two sides. My wife had the ribs and said they were great! My Mom had the popcorn shrimp that she said was tasty! Daughter (four years old) shared some of... More

Nice change to find Hawaiian fast food in Tucson.... and its pretty good. Staff was really nice, service size decent, and delicious. A good plate lunch, far from the islands!

Wonderful BarBQ with a Hawaiian and oriental touch. The surroundings are campus-oriented. The quality of the food and generous portions speak for themselves. Priced right. This was our second experience and would go there again. Not a destination for those seeking memorable ambiance. Go for the food!
