... and I have realized that this is something I haven't missed at all when I was in Tucson. Honestly Gelato at Allegro is better than "real" gelato you can have in Italy. Trust me, I am Italian!

Having not been to Italy to taste the gelato, I can only say Allegro's gelato was the best gelato I've ever had in Tucson. Creamy, great variety of flavors and good service. It's a small shop but there was a constant flow of customers. Definitely treat yourself here when you're in the U of A area.

I got into some great gelato while in Italy. I really like flavors with genuine flavor, coconut, lemon, coffee and above all chocolate. I had the two later flavors. Great!! Authentic, fresh.

We tried this place after having frost. Very good gelato and I'd reccomend. But I have to say frost is just a step above!

My friend took me there to meet her friends and I absolutely loved their gelato! I got different flavors and all really good! The store is small and full of people. Popular!! :)

Doesn't even come close to comparing with Frost. The flavors are nowhere near as delicious, and service was sub par.

Dear Andrew, I want to apologize for your less than perfect experience regarding the service that you received with us. Since I am making the gelato in another kind of philosophy I am aware that some people could not like it. Thanks anyway for your honest point of view but I hope you could give us another chance or at... More

Rotating freezers. Unique flavors. Creamy, melt on your tongue texture. We tried the coffee, chocolate mint, and cream custard flavors. It is worth the trip to find it, located near the University of Arizona in a lively, interesting neighborhood. Stop by, and you won't be sorry. Absolutely wonderful gelato.

I wish I could go back and try everything! They have both gelato and sorbet, and you can get a combination even in a "small" cup, which is a very generous size. Be sure to try the orange cardamom! (They will give tastes, so you can sample before deciding.)
