We stayed at the hotel and when we went to the restaurant for breakfast we expected a buffet, which is standard at most hotels (even the "nice ones"). We were surprised that is was an actual restaurant that did not just include the standard "bacon and eggs" fare. Our meals were genuinely top notch (I recommend the tamales), and the... More

I had friends visit from Austin who wanted appetizers and to eat outside. The Lodge more than exceeded their expectations, the food was delicious. We sat on the covered patio in the middle of a monsoon storm , and had an enjoyable experience. I asked some friends to join me last night thinking we would once again sit outside and... More

We dined here recently and were pretty much the only people in the restaurant. The service was mediocre. The staff was neither welcoming nor friendly. I got the feeling they wished we hadn't come! We waited a long time for our food and it was just ok. The positions were very small. The fish of the day was maybe half... More

This was our second visit to The Lodge for dinner, and the first time since the departure of chef Ryan. We found the salads to be ordinary and the entrees to be pleasing but not memorable. Although dinner was good, the wait service was slow, erratic and left a lot to be desired. We were only one of four tables... More

Breakfast, lunch or dinner- consistently top notch- or just cocktails on the beautiful patio with outdoor fireplace.

Hearing various rumors regarding changes at Lodge on the Desert, my girlfriends and I decided to sample the fares of the new chef Marcus. After Iron Chef winner Ryan left to start his own restaurant, the ambience/innovation at the Lodge was initially missing. I am delighted to report, The Lodge is back! Service was superb: wait staff including Katy, Martin,... More

The chef is great! 10 of us enjoyed many different menu items with no disappointments. The staff were great.

Margaritas were $5, lamb sliders $10, great nachos. Excellent food - could make a dinner, as we did, just on happy hour food.

Wonderful dinner this evening at Lodge on the Desert. Soup was dee-lish -- chicken broth with rice and vegetables might not sound too exciting -- but it was seasoned really well, with the addition of fresh, perfectly cooked brussel sprouts as well as the celery, carrots, and other veggies you'd expect in a good broth. My partner had the beet-goat... More

I generally dont like hotel restaurants, except in some parts of Europe. This restaurant had that same Eurpean grace, and the staff were like cafe owners in the Greek islands, ready to share the private magic they experience as tuscon.
