I really liked the look and feel of this place, and it smelled fantastic when we walked in the door. We had the lunch buffet. To be honest, I've never had a lot of luck with Indian buffets. Maybe because I'm vegetarian so that limits my selections. It was fine, the veggie masala was good, but the flavors overall just... More

As it turned out, we were fortunate that El Charro was jam-packed with lines going out the door so we went down the block to Saffron. We were greeted by the owner and a hostess, immediately seated and offered a bottle of red wine for half price. Plus, the aromas coming from the kitchen were wonderful and the dishes coming... More

Well familiar with Indian cuisine, we had heard good things of this place! Visited the lunch buffet a couple of times. It was decent. But dinner? A whole different experience. Great service from Arthur, who is so knowledgeable. So rather than bore you with every detail. try it. The food is simply as good as I've ever experienced and being... More

Before moving to Tucson a few years ago, my wife and I were wondering what the restaurant scene was. We have been quite happily surprised to find a diverse scene with many ethnicities represented. Saffron is one of the very good Indian restaurants in town. It isn't in the center of Tucson, but it is worth the drive to dine... More

We tried the buffet. The Masala, both chicken and vegetable, were very tasty. The service, however, was quite lacking. It took a long time to get someone to take our drink order, a longer time to get our drinks and our check. The other thing that bothered me was that tables were not bussed. Dirty dishes were left on tables... More

We have been dining at this restaurant for quite a while. So, we finally decided to acknowledge the delicious food with sincere management and quality service. Their consistency of each meal ordered is always superb! Our favorite dishes are Chicken Tikka Masala, Paneer Haryali, and Shish Kabab. So delicious!

Saffron has some great food on the regular menu. The lunch buffet has a very good selection of dishes. I also like the welcoming, modern atmosphere.

First, I was surprised with the ambiance. High ceilings, spacious seating in a nicely updated restaurant. Then the food was very tasty and creative--sauces were superb. A fair amount of choices, freshly added to by the all over it owner. Server was polite and friendly, BEST SURPRISE $8.50 for lunch. I will be back. Can not vouch for dinner.

I have an upcoming trip to India so my wife and I wanted to go taste India food. We were pleasantly surprised at the wonderfully complex taste of Indian food. Every bite you could identify a different spice. We chose the medium spicy versions and it wasn't too spicy, we might go for the high spicy version next time. Waiter... More
