Saffron has clearly been designed to present a more modern take on Indian food. The space, the glasses and curvy dishware, and the use of digital i-pad-like devices to show pictures of the food all testify to this. Our waiter was clearly working hard to sell us on food and beverages, even bringing a couple of dishes of house-made ice... More

Went here for the lunch buffet special. At $8.95 per person it surely is reasonable, but the food is absolutely nothing special. The buffet selections were plentiful, the vegetarian options plentiful, but the food quality just nothing better than acceptable. Nothing special. We will not return. ZB

Having lived in England, my wife and I are familiar with good Indian cooking. You don't find good Indian in many places in the U.S. because many of the spices needed are expensive and unprofitable commercially. Many restaurants substitute heat for flavor. Saffron Indian Bistro is different and authentic and a real treat for the tastebuds. If you need a... More

I really liked the look and feel of this place, and it smelled fantastic when we walked in the door. We had the lunch buffet. To be honest, I've never had a lot of luck with Indian buffets. Maybe because I'm vegetarian so that limits my selections. It was fine, the veggie masala was good, but the flavors overall just... More

As it turned out, we were fortunate that El Charro was jam-packed with lines going out the door so we went down the block to Saffron. We were greeted by the owner and a hostess, immediately seated and offered a bottle of red wine for half price. Plus, the aromas coming from the kitchen were wonderful and the dishes coming... More

Well familiar with Indian cuisine, we had heard good things of this place! Visited the lunch buffet a couple of times. It was decent. But dinner? A whole different experience. Great service from Arthur, who is so knowledgeable. So rather than bore you with every detail. try it. The food is simply as good as I've ever experienced and being... More

Before moving to Tucson a few years ago, my wife and I were wondering what the restaurant scene was. We have been quite happily surprised to find a diverse scene with many ethnicities represented. Saffron is one of the very good Indian restaurants in town. It isn't in the center of Tucson, but it is worth the drive to dine... More

We tried the buffet. The Masala, both chicken and vegetable, were very tasty. The service, however, was quite lacking. It took a long time to get someone to take our drink order, a longer time to get our drinks and our check. The other thing that bothered me was that tables were not bussed. Dirty dishes were left on tables... More

We have been dining at this restaurant for quite a while. So, we finally decided to acknowledge the delicious food with sincere management and quality service. Their consistency of each meal ordered is always superb! Our favorite dishes are Chicken Tikka Masala, Paneer Haryali, and Shish Kabab. So delicious!
