Really great food! We tried the lunch buffet...and I mean we tasted everything. It was terrific! I was concerned the food might be a bit too spicy for my liking, but it was simply outstanding. A must try is the hibiscus tea...wow! Such a nice compliment to the cuisine. Excellent service and the... read more

We were greeted by the owner and a hostess, immediately seated and served a glass of icewater on a busy Friday night. All the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked like perfect, so it was hard to decide what to choose. Our server helped us out with some suggestions. We had a perfect dinner in a very modern setting,... More

Great lassi; nan; and entree with a wonderful sauce. Went back 2 days later. If I lived in the area, would visit more often. Only get to Tucson once a year, and this is about 5 miles from where I stay, so adding this to my list of restaurants when in Tucson.

My wife and I have been frequenting this dining emporium often, mainly because we are living in a hotel and have to find different restaurants each day during our hotel stay. We had 2 orders of the Tandoori chicken at $11.95 each, very pricey since each entrée consisted of two very small chicken legs and two thighs. We also had... More

Four of us enjoyed the vast menu and friendly service. Waiter helped us with our choices and the food was very good. The restaurant is very clean with a nice modern décor. Have visited at least 6 times and have NOT been disappointed once.

Saffron has clearly been designed to present a more modern take on Indian food. The space, the glasses and curvy dishware, and the use of digital i-pad-like devices to show pictures of the food all testify to this. Our waiter was clearly working hard to sell us on food and beverages, even bringing a couple of dishes of house-made ice... More

Went here for the lunch buffet special. At $8.95 per person it surely is reasonable, but the food is absolutely nothing special. The buffet selections were plentiful, the vegetarian options plentiful, but the food quality just nothing better than acceptable. Nothing special. We will not return. ZB

Having lived in England, my wife and I are familiar with good Indian cooking. You don't find good Indian in many places in the U.S. because many of the spices needed are expensive and unprofitable commercially. Many restaurants substitute heat for flavor. Saffron Indian Bistro is different and authentic and a real treat for the tastebuds. If you need a... More

I really liked the look and feel of this place, and it smelled fantastic when we walked in the door. We had the lunch buffet. To be honest, I've never had a lot of luck with Indian buffets. Maybe because I'm vegetarian so that limits my selections. It was fine, the veggie masala was good, but the flavors overall just... More

As it turned out, we were fortunate that El Charro was jam-packed with lines going out the door so we went down the block to Saffron. We were greeted by the owner and a hostess, immediately seated and offered a bottle of red wine for half price. Plus, the aromas coming from the kitchen were wonderful and the dishes coming... More
