Yummy food and even yummier desserts

Was trying to decide which restaurant to patronize for the wife's birthday celebration. We opened the door and was hit with a mouth-watering smell. They were full, so while we were pondering another establishment, someone was brought a huge chunk of chocolate cake. Needless to say, we waited for... read more

Incredible food and presentation! Best meal on our two-week trip through New England. Waitress and folks at the bar made the experience a homey one. Restaurant opens at 5 pm for dinner only. Fun watching the seals and the loons in the cove next door as they started their dinner hour earlier.

We had an excellent meal and the salmon was very good & fresh. Service was good. It is a little expensive.

Entrees were ridiculously expensive: baked haddock $24; meatloaf $17; salads $13-17. Served with masher, peas, and other basic sides. Average food, at best. Total bill was $70C without drinks and without dessert. Plain pine, casual interior. High ambient noise. Servers seemed indifferent. Indoor or outdoor seating. There are better choices locally. It felt like the Tavern was taking advantage of... More

Meatloaf is like a frozen Salisbury dinner. None of the food was hot.Very pricey!! And chef won't change your vegetables unless your local. Worst place we ate at the entire time we were here.

I really enjoy this place and visit several times while in Lubec! The new Chef Nadine Pinto is an excellent addition. Try the onion tart (my favorite!) - the hanger steak is perfect as well as mushroom risotto and haddock. Be sure to save room for dessert because their pastry chef that knows his business.

Everything was wonderful, including the service and environment. So why not a five star rating you ask? For entrees, three of us had the haddock and one had mussels. The servings were very skimpy, especially considering the price ($24 for the haddock). Particularly disappointing was the serving size of the beet salad, which at $13 one would think should easily... We ate at this restaurant because we were staying at the Tavern. We found the food to be average. The salmon was OK but we have had better. The vegetable medley that it was served over was good. No rice or potato. We felt it was expensive. The wine we ordered was out of stock. Had to choose something else.... More

Arrive before the crowd hit at 6 PM and were seated immediately. We ordered the meatloaf dinner, a single crab cake, and the wedge salad. All were excellent. Service was ok, but got shakey when the place filled up

We live here in the summer and have now found the prices and menu to be out of our price range for a casual meal, so we will no longer patronize this restaurant. Too bad as they used to have more "wallet friendly" entrees!
