My Uncle likes the place and said they have a great big bowl of chowder. We dined there on our visit to Lubec. The Clam Chowder was delicious, but as the headline states, lacks clams. My Uncle's grandson has the shrimp roll, which was friend shrimp. I thought it would have been like a lobster roll, unfried. The restaurant is... More

Frank's Dockside is a pleasant surprise and a pretty good deal. Very good chowders and carefully cooked fish served in pleasant surroundings inside on a comfortable deck outside. The service gets a little spotty with the summertime rush, and it's not cheap, but you'll get a much better than average meal at Lubec's harborside.

We visited Campobello Island in northern Maine and Frank's was recommended to us a member of the staff at the FDR cottage. We went to the restaurant and the three of us ordered food. After over an hour and two inquiries with no response and no food we paid for our drinks and walked out.

Had the lobster dinner the first night. Came back again the next night because of the excellent food. Good wine at a great price, excellent craft beer. Ate out on the deck the second night and had free entertainment from the seagulls.

We loved Frank's Dockside. The scenery, the food, the staff and the ambiance were unbeatable. This was our favorite meal in a 19 day motorcycle trip.

At the end of Water Street there are 3 very good restaurants together. The food at Frank's was excellent, but service was a bit slow. Understandable when you see the size of their kitchen. A bit of Italian food along with the usual sea food entrees. We heard good reviews of the Water Street Grill, next door, also. Franks has... More

Frank's Dockside is one of the few sit down restaurants in Lubec. It is located right in the center of the town. We did not have any trouble finding a place to park.. The restaurant is not fancy, but we found it acceptable. There is the option of eating inside or outside. We ate inside but were bothered by the... More

We ate lunch on the water after buying lemonade from 2 enterprising young ladies out front. They informed us that it was OK to carry them into her uncle’s restaurant. It has indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside as all the tables inside were full, even though it was after 1pm. The haddock sandwiches we had were both very... More

A friend and I were on a 2 day tour of the Lubec area and went here for lunch. We were looking for fresh, tasty seafood. Unfortunately, they were out of lobster, so I ordered a shrimp roll basket, expecting that it would be similar to a lobster roll. What I got was deep fried (small) shrimp on a roll... More

Their pies and other desserts are to die for. If you are lucky to be there when they have the strawberry pie (Frank's mom makes all the pies!), BUY THAT ONE!
