This is probably our 6th or 7th visit to Franks. What seems to draw us back is their really excellent onion soup and the great views. In addition to the soup, virtually any seafood dish is excellent. I especially like the local fried shrimp dish. The shrimp are small but local and very fresh and sweet. My wife loves their... More

Small and crowded when we arrived but the staff worked their tails off and got us seated quickly. We met a couple I talked with at the Eastland Model and we decided to sit together to save space. A delightful evening meeting new people over an exceptional meal. Frank was a New York Chef and it showed, the veal I... More

It seemed like everyone we bumped into in Lubec told us how great Frank's was, and that we should try it.The staff was exceptionally friendly. Speaking as a New England native I'll say that the fish stew was one of the best we've had, the fried clams were average, the crab cakes were delicious. The desserts are home made by... More

We were spending some time in Campobello, New Brunswick, and drove across for dinner at Frank's. Although the place was hopping, we were seated pretty quickly and enjoyed a wonderful meal. The crab cakes were pretty much ALL CRAB, and the pan fried haddock was delicious. Wine and beer selections were adequate, the service was fine, and the 1960/1970s music... More

We ate at Frank's because the restaurant we planned to have dinner at was closed on Tuesdays. The food was good and plentiful, but certainly nothing spectacular. We both had the Pan Fried Haddock which was very tasty and flavorful. The place is very small and due to cool, windy weather the deck area was closed. This caused a wait... More

My Uncle likes the place and said they have a great big bowl of chowder. We dined there on our visit to Lubec. The Clam Chowder was delicious, but as the headline states, lacks clams. My Uncle's grandson has the shrimp roll, which was friend shrimp. I thought it would have been like a lobster roll, unfried. The restaurant is... More

Frank's Dockside is a pleasant surprise and a pretty good deal. Very good chowders and carefully cooked fish served in pleasant surroundings inside on a comfortable deck outside. The service gets a little spotty with the summertime rush, and it's not cheap, but you'll get a much better than average meal at Lubec's harborside.

We visited Campobello Island in northern Maine and Frank's was recommended to us a member of the staff at the FDR cottage. We went to the restaurant and the three of us ordered food. After over an hour and two inquiries with no response and no food we paid for our drinks and walked out.
