Was looking online for a place for Sunday brunch in Providence and stumbled upon this gem! Hidden in the most obscure location, was the cutest little place with a gorgeous outdoor terrace, (we ate inside) and unusual, funky and slightly haunting decor. We enjoyed our brunch from start to finish, with very helpful and friendly staff. I had the waffle... More

Went with another couple for a birthday dinner. One of the guests is a chef and said he never had a better meal - he had the duck comfit prepared perfectly. My husband had the glazed scallops (pictures), the other friend had a white bean and pasta dish and I had the seared tuna salad as an entrée. I also... More

My wife and I recently celebrated our wedding anniversary at the CAV restaurant in Providence R.I. We were looking for a romantic atmosphere with quality food selections. We were not disappointed. CAV was one of the most unique places I've eaten in this country. The A in CAV stands for antiques of which you are surrounded during your dining experience.... More

Have eaten in many restaurants in Providence but had not been to CAV before, so was pleasantly surprised to find it was consistent with good reviews. The menu offers a variety of both French and Italian dishes, which would normally seem odd, but CAV handles all well. We had the walnut crusted warm Brie cheese to start - very good... More

Hadn't been to Cav in probably twenty years and a lot can change during that time! But not Cav. A very unique restaurant/antique shop. Items from around the world are tastefully positioned throughout the restaurant. Fun to browse while waiting for your food. All for sale! Went for a late lunch so it was not crowded. Had bruschetta for appetizer... More

We ate here before attending a show at Providence Arts. The service and food was excellent and the portions not skimpy. The menu was varied. Our group included a vegetarian and someone with gluten sensitivity and we had no issues finding something to roder. We weren't rushed but they timed everything perfectly for us to not have to rush to... More

I had dinner here after attending matinee in the area. We decided not to get entrees and we ordered many appetizers. If you asked me which one was the best, I would not be able to choose for they were all fabulous! There were three of us. I highly recommend the coconut shrimp accompanied by a thai chilli sauce. The... More

I must begin with a quote from Jennifer L.: "Part restaurant, part antique store". That thought so thoroughly captures the essence of CAV, I don't know how to say it better! I had the most welcoming, satisfying experience. From the free parking to the warm greeting to the amazing service to the fabulous food, CAV moves very near the top... More

The restaurant setting is in a renovated factory with great décor. The food was delicious and service very good for a busy night. A great overall experience.

Part restaurant, part antique store, this is the one Providence restaurant I wanted to return after 20 years away from the city. I was not surprised to see it was still open. Their food and atmosphere was still terrific 20 years later. The CAV has served as the setting for many dreams I have had in the last 20 years...I... More
