Camille's is a classic and elegant Italian restaurant on Federal Hill. It is one of Providence's oldest restaurants (100 years) and still going strong. The menu, food quality and service are all excellent. The dining rooms are formal - kept beautiful. The wine list is extensive - but can be expensive. Great for a special evening.

We started with the calimari and polenta with wild mushrooms for our appitizers. Both of these were delicious. The decision on my entree was very difficult as everything on the menu sounded so good. After some time I chose the beef fillet . It was one of the best steaks I have ever had, flavorful and cooked to perfection. For... More

We chose Camille's primarily because we wanted to eat on Federal Hill and we had a theater time of 8:00. Camille's opens at 5:00 so it was for us. We had arguably the best waiter - Joe. He was honest enough to admit he needed to check the specials and after that, he navigated the dinner and wine menus like... More

This is a great place for a first class Italian meal. We're not talking family style here. The fare is pricier but eye-popping in its presentation and taste bud-popping in its preparation. Great place to take a serious date. Staff were courteous even though we were not very dressed-up, having just come from the airport. I would definitely dress-up a... More

I have nothing but great things to say about the queen of Federal Hill, Camille's. Set in a former mansion Camille's looks like something out of an Italian gangster movie, minus the gangsters. All you will find is superb service, food, and drink here. We enjoyed the famous bolognese lasagna, homemade pasta with meatballs and the Seared Ahi with homemade... More

Food and service were, as always, very good. The meatballs are unbeatable and the veal special that I ate was delightful. However, I was put off by the sour mix in the sidecars. They are better than that, and it was disappointing.

Had reservations on a Friday night at 8 p.m. during restaurant week and were seated promptly as we arrived. Our waiter London was very accommodating as one of our party is gluten sensitive so he brought that to the attention of the kitchen. A wonderful extensive wine list gave us numerous choices. We felt they did a fantastic job with... More

The food was excellent with a wide choice on the menu.: The chairs were uncomfortable. The staff were very friendly and attentive. They had a good wine list though perhaps a little light on European wines for an Italian restaurant!

Went for restaurant week and loved everything. The bruschetta and eggplant appetizers were great. The lobster ravioli with 2 jumbo shrimp was amazing as well as the chicken parm. Vanilla gelato was out of this world. Definitely will be making a return visit.
