Hip, friendly and good food - mostly

We stopped at Julian's for an early afternoon lunch on the Monday of President's Week. It is located the hip Federal Hill section of Providence. Since it was a holiday, the place was jammed. We were initially told the wait would be up to 45 minutes, and we considered going elsewhere - but as the... read more

I don’t even know where to begin with how disappointed I am with Julian’s. The only good thing about this experience was the friends I was with. Luckily we are all able to laugh about how horrible this experience was. We had reservations for a Friday night and arrived a few minutes early. Our table wasn’t ready yet so we... More

We visited on a weeknight as we were heading to the Columbus Theater a couple of doors down to see a show. We happened to be looking for a quick meal before the show as we were running late. The staff understood our request and quickly seated us and recommended several items that would be easy for the kitchen to... More

While in Providence for the new year holiday, friends brought us to Julian's for brunch. We had about a 20 minute wait for a table but were offered coffee while we waited -- thank you! The place was hopping the entire time we were there yet the staff remained friendly and attentive. Our food was amazing, portions were huge and... More

Poorly organized seating (i.e., party of 6 waits forever for a table, while a party of 2 is seated at a table for 6), and while the food was well-prepared, some of our party were not served until 15-20 minutes after the others. The waitstaff is phenomenally overworked (way too few for way too many tables!), and we were just... More

The restaurant is trying to be very trendy. They aren't quite there yet, but still very good. There is not a whole bunch of options on the menu. We had onions rings which were perfect as an app. Then my boyfriend got the ribeye special which he said was good but it wasn't served hot so a little odd. I... More

I love Julian's! They have an ever-changing menu which is nice because I look forward to seeing what new menu options they have each time I visit. They have awesome food, great beer & drinks, and also delicious interesting desserts. It's always busy here so I recommend going at an off time or plan to wait awhile. It is worth... More

Julian's is an artsy ("funky"?) restaurant, with an eclectic menu. I liked it because of the warm and friendly service, healthy options, good food, and nice beer menu. There is free parking, although limited time, since it is outside of the city center. We were there on a busy Friday night, but we were seated immediately. There is only only... More

Known as a local hipster spot for the local Providence residents but has always been a staple for a great atmosphere with even better food! Right down to the pez dispenser display bathroom and the artwork within reminds of a Beale Street hot spot. This was a late night affair catching up with a friend and was happy to return.... More
