Cafe Nuovo is not so "nuovo" anymore and could benefit from a dining room and restroom overhaul. With that said, the food and service are consistently excellent. Prices are reasonable and the menu is surprisingly varied for a fine dining establishment. Save room for dessert, that's where they really shine!

My wife and I ate hear a year ago and really loved it. I may have even rated it a 5 then. The shone has come off a little in my opinion. My wife had the tuna and asked for it to be prepared medium - it wasn't - it was as raw as they would have prepared it without... More

Excellent food at moderate to high prices but worth it. I had the duck which was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Two others in my party had steak which they very much enjoyed. Portions were generous. The owner/manager,Dimetri, was omni-present to make sure that the clientele were being served in a professional yet cordial manner. Some of the servers have... More

My friends, Sister and had dinner here for my 40th Birthday in November. The atmosphere is beautiful and we were able to sit by the window to watch the fire water, which was very cool. Dinner was fantastic and service was good. I would love to go back there again. Could be very romantic!! :)

My husband and I had eaten here before and were very happy. We decided to visit again with friends on the last Waterfire of the year. If anything, it was better than our first visit. The food was wonderful, amazing, however, the most standout thing about this evening was our amazing server. I asked for her name and wrote it... More

The cuisine is AMAZING, out of this world. Gourmet without pretension. If we could eat there everyday we would. Fresh, tasty, excellent choices & presentation. My fiancé had the lamb and I had scallops. Our favorite restaurant in RI without a doubt. Elegant decor, excellent service. Try the bananas foster dessert - the chocolate is very high quality.

We've been coming to Cafe Nuovo since the first night it opened. After several management changes, it is back to its old high standards. Outstanding service. Enjoy the riverfront location. Easy parking. Fine wine list. Terrific service. But the food is the star -- wonderful stuff. The special "deconstructed" salad was unbelievable -- a range of root vegetables plus pear... More

We were looking for a place to celebrate our anniversary and our friend's anniversary. We live in RI and have our favorites in Providence, but our friends aren't big on seafood so we were trying to find a restaurant that had something for everyone. I haven't been to Cafe Nuovo for years. I have no idea why. It was perfect.... More

Went to Cafe Nuovo for our anniversary dinner on a water fire night. The place was very crowded. We got there early and was able to have a cocktail in the bar area. I ordered a espresso martini and my wife had a vodka martini. To our surprise the drinks came out in to different size glasses. On our second... More
