Good and fresh Oysters, clam chowder, and Choppino, The night we dined here they had 9 different oysters and the staff was quite knowledgeable. However we found the our entree dishes a bit boring.

I was staying nearby at the Hilton, and walked over to Federal Hill. Walking by around 5PM, it was very inviting and I decided to walk in. I am so glad I did as the atmosphere was just what I was looking for. They had a happy hour bar menu that had all food items listed as $6.00. The portion... More

I have to say, this is my favorite restaurant in Providence! I have been here multiple times and always recommend the phenominal service. The gentlemen bartenders make an exceptional espresso martini, and the fried calamari is the best in town! The atmosphere is cozy and sophisticated. I do have one complaint however. My most recent visit I was slightly dissapointed... More

If you enjoy cozy offbeat places that serve fabulous food at reasonable prices withh friendly staff then this is the place for you. Great bar scene with the best late afternoon specials (3-6 pm) anywhere in Providence. Sit at the end of the bar and watch the kitchen staff make your meal. For me, this a monthly tradition. The fish... More

Had the tuna with sesame seeds, it was served with a full bok choy and around four lobster wontons. All was delicious, hence the price is fair for what you get.

I went to the airport location and had the fried fish sandwich with fries. It's a smaller portion of the fish and chips platter if you ignore the bun and just eat the fish. It was fantastic! The batter was great, the fish was moist and flaky, it was a nice, thick piece of cod. I seasoned with malt vinegar... More

The lobster mashed potatoes are amazing! The paella can easily feed two if not three people and the calamari appetizer with ginger was the best calamari I've ever had. We were a big group and Kelly our waitress was timely and attentive.

The raw bar prices are a good bargain during happy hour, but that's where the appeal ended for us... Service is spotty and often abrupt... Entrees offer reasonable portions, but the quality was lacking: our swordfish was not particularly fresh, and the king crab had obviously been frozen for a fair amount of time. The Chilean sea bass, clams casino,... More

We are New Yawkers with a second home in southern RI. Occasionally we venture north to Providence for more cosmopolitan dining. This was our first trip to the Providence Oyster Bar on Federal Hill. Our dinner companions, New Yorkers and restaurant mavens, were impressed and somewhat in awe of the numbers at the right side of the menu. Clams on... More
