This was quite an experience, mainly due to our server Anat. she was fantastic! The food was great too, loved the pizza and salad and of course the ccookies as desert. Must visit when in Providence.

Food's pretty good but life is too short to wait 1 1/2 hours because this restauranteur won't take reservations. Plenty of other places in town with food just as good and who respect their customers enough to offer reservations.

Had a special dinner at Al Forno last night and woke up still thinking about my meal. The pizza appetizer is the best pizza i have ever eaten...we ordered the Margharita as an appetizer. The flavor of the sauce can't be beat. The crust was nice and thin and perfectly cooked. There were 4 of us and we were all... More

I had waited 20 years to go here because I heard all the reviews about how long it took to get in to eat. Well, finally last night, we went early and had the most fantastic meals and service from start to finish. Started with delicious bread and olive oil that tasted like it was pressed that day out back!... More

On a visit to Providence, we discovered a wonderful restaurant. The menu was so interesting and the food matched. The place is filled with locals which attests to it's great food and selections. The portions are large and the service is excellent. I would go there again and sample another of its entree's cooked on their wood-burning grill or another... More

Come here for wonderfully tender duck, friendly service and probably the best pizza you can get. In short, the food is excellent. But the sound can be overwhelming. The time we were there, we really had a hard time hearing one another. There is a contradiction between the high-end cooking and the high-decibel sounds of the dining room.

What a great restaurant! The menu is very sophisticated and the food is prepared perfectly. Items you don't see every day such as the veal brisket had a great flavor and the roasted clams were unbelievably hot but I like them that way. The flat bread was the best I have ever had and the service was friendly yet very... More

We are lucky in Rhode Island to have a great number of GOOD restaurants. Al Forno has for years been rated as one of the best places in the country. You walk in with a smile and walk out knowing you had one of the better meals you have ever had. It's GREAT.

After waiting 3 hours, the food was delicious. Of course, a bowl of cereal would have tasted good at that point. Arrived at 5:30 on a Saturday evening and told it would be a 2 hour wait. Decided to stay( party of 4) . They will not take reservations for parties under 6. However, as it came up on 3... More

Our 2nd visit and our last! Waited 3! Hours for our table. Finally seated at a crowded table in the bar. The tables were so tight that we had a too close encounter with the waiter's rear as he waited on the couple next to us. Food was good. We had scallops, eggplant and pasta with butternut squash. All were... More
