Simple but good

Never been, had always heard about it. Cute small place. Started with bruschetta as well as clams: both were tasty and simply done. Split the margherita pizza, which was tasty but very thin. Prices weren't cheap but weren't horrible.

Al Forno's is located in a former police station house (from many years ago). The interior is completely updated and modern; the walls are exposed brick. It is located by the river, on the outskirts of Providence city. The restaurant has its own parking lot (free), so don't park in the nearby parking lot (which borders the restaurant) for which... Visited Al Forno's for dinner & dessert with 4 friends. From the asparagus soup to the spaghetti with meatballs; everything was amazingly delicious ! To top off the evening we shared the cookie tray & the apple tart; over the top delicious! Our server was the best ever, EVER!

Sat at the bar and had the most delicious pizza. Their food is so good. The upstairs bar is a little sterile. Could use an atmospheric update. Outside in the summer is gorgeous

I went to Al Forno last week with my family. We ordered their famous grilled pizza which was delicious and unique - the pumpkin flavor especially. I got the grilled vegetable entree which was fresh and filling! The service was excellent. One of our entrees was late, so without question the waitress took off the price on the final bill.... We go to Al Forno's (upstairs) when we have something to celebrate (or not). This was Christmas, our daughter's visit AND my husband's retirement to celebrate. We are NEVER disappointed! The table (201) was perfect. Sasha, our server, was so sweet! And the food....OMG...margarita pizza, calamari, zucchini fires with marinara, meatball side, Cesar salad, wonderful home-made bread, rib ravioli, and... More

My husband has been making his own dough for some time and his favorite cookbook named Al Forno's as one of the absolute best, so it became a mecca challenge for him. We finally made it this year and it did not disappoint! We were a little later than we had planned and found in order not to wait we... More

We finally made it to Al Forno. From the outside, it's nothing to look at. Inside is nothing special, very crowded. Service is brisk and impeccable. We were served bread and provided with all the specials in short order (as we had a 7pm performance to catch). We were a party of six. I started with the Calimari Arrabiata which... More

This was quite an experience, mainly due to our server Anat. she was fantastic! The food was great too, loved the pizza and salad and of course the ccookies as desert. Must visit when in Providence.
