I've eaten in Indian restaurants from London, England, to Los Angeles, and the India Restaurant in Providence is the unqualified winner for the WORST -- AND LEAST AUTHENTIC -- Indian food that I've eaten anywhere. I went there twice, and both times only because I had a $10 gift certificate from the place to go there. Well, the ten bucks... More

India has become my favorite Indian restaurant in Providence, a city with several Indian restaurants, The food is always fresh and there are numerous 'interesting' selections. I often feel hurried at Indian restaurants, not sure why but the food seems to come out quickly and before long the meal is over. Somehow I find the environment at India less hurried... More

The quality of food is certainly noticeable. Everything is fresh and amazing. Everyone is very caring. There is a beautiful back patio with tables which include swing seating. Great for a romantic dinner or families. The Silva Family, Seekonk MA

This is a great little neighborhood spot on the East side of Providence. We sat outside in the garden courtyard. Each table has seats on one side that are padded benches and on the other side swings. We've never seen swing seats in a restaurant before! The wonderful flowers and trellises with tiny white lights created a beautiful atmosphere. The... More

We really don't go to India as much as we should. The food is delicious, and the service is usually really good. They have fresh, local food with a spin on traditional Indian food. Their Sunday brunch buffet is really good, and their other specials are totally worth it. The atmosphere is fun and cozy. They are also usually at... More

We keep going back to this restaurant for the indian food. It truly gives one the perception they are in India with their menu, belly dancing and music. When we went last week a woman came out carrying a plate of candles which were burning then placed it on her head while she danced. It's amazing how she did not... More

I am not a fan of Indian food but was willing to give it a try. Kitchen accommodating taking much of the "spice" out of my food. Atmosphere was great. Our server was awful but appeared to be the only weak on there. Going again this Friday!

I have travelled near and far to many Indian restaurants, since it is by far my favorite cusine. After my visit to this restaurant I felt that they have satisfied all of my senses...the food was tasty, the ambience is eclectic, the place is clean, the music is melodious, the lighting is just right and the prices are resonable. I... More

I think the title of this review says it all - this isn't bad by any means. I'd say it's average. There seems to be a lot of emphasis on presentation to the detriment of the food. I had the duck in tamarind sauce (which was only mildly spicy, not as spicy as the menu made it sound), and while... More

I had one day in Providence and stopped here for dinner on my way out of town and am glad I found this place. As I was by myself, I was seated at the bar near a few other patrons. The bartender/server was very pleasant, eager to help with recommendations and menu selections. I mentioned I would be driving, so... More
