Stopped here on good recommendation from another dinning website, but was underwhelmed. The Ribeye was okay, chicken breast unremarkable and veggies poorly prepared. Would recommend looking for a different restaurant if only in Estes for one night.

Our 5 person group had lunch at The Grubsteak. Even though the menu was varied and respectful the quality of the food was just average and the service was also average even though there seemed to be plenty of service people.

Two different locals recommended this place as a good place for local delicacies ( yak, elk, bison ). My husband got the elk burger and said it was good, a little dry due to leanness of meat. I shared a ham and cheese melt w/daughter and it was very good. There is inside and outside dining, and the room we... More

This was a good restaurant to visit. My friend and I were looking for a place to eat lunch and our cab driver suggested this restaurant. I believe it is a family run restaurant. Each of us ordered elk burgers which were very mild tasting and very good. There were several different types but we were happy with our choice.

We have enjoyed eating here yearly for many years. The place appears to be bigger this year. The service is a little slow and the veggie burger was just not good. Maybe we'll try something else another year.

Nice patio. Ok service, but not great. Food is fine but nothing exciting. And overpriced, but so are most things in Estes.

The Grubsteak Restaurant was recommended by locals when we inquired about where to find a good elk burger. The kids (ages 17-26) said the elk and yak burgers were good, but they didn't taste much of a difference from the beef burgers the rest of us were eating (except the $2-$3 upcharge). They said they would stick to beef moving... More

We stopped here on a whim while exploring Estes Park and were very glad we did. All five of us had burgers, each a different variety and there are many to choose from, although the menu includes other things as well. We ventured out of our "comfort zone" and tried yak and bison burgers, all of which were great. The... More

My husband and I stopped at The Grubsteak after a long day of traveling. We started with chips and salsa, which were BOTH homemade. My husband, a "bacon-aholic," ordered the Cowboy burger (which he thought to be delicious) and I enjoyed the Boulder Field Burger (topped with cream cheese whipped with sun dried tomatoes & garlic), I was amazed at... We sat outside in an adorable covered patio area. We started with chicken nachos which were delicious. Everyone in our group had a burger (two bison, one beef) and fries. Very very good. My mom said her side salad with the homemade ranch dressing was the best she's ever had. Our waitress Riley was did a very good job and... More
