We stopped here for the burgers because it is near another restaurant we go to every time we are out. The burgers were expensive but EXCELLENT. You can choose between beef, elk, yak and bison (what?!). Waitress was friendly and chatty (local). The french fries were even good. Great beer list. We sat outside on the back covered patio. This... We went to this place because we wanted to try an elk steak; although they also have elk, buffalo and yak burgers as wild game selections. (I am not a burger person though). So we had elk sirloin, and it was good, maybe a little dry. It was pricey too. The salad and garnish were disappointing, however. My husband also... More

I took a group of teenagers to the Grubsteak this week for a birthday party. They loved it. Some got burgers which they loved. Some got ELK burgers which were awesome, according to the diners. One got a YAK burger that wasn't that good. I got a salad and it was average but had great guacamole. The service was very... More

Their menu features lots of red meat choices--from elk and buffalo burgers to elk and venison steaks. There were lots of other choices including pizza, chicken, etc. The décor is rustic country with both inside and outside seating. I had a deluxe elk burger which was very tasty, but my husband's elk steak was tough and difficult to chew. More... More

The elk burger was amazing! Try it if you get a chance. Server was less than attentive. The other severs were great at the other tables. I'm sure I would have given a 4 or higher if we would have had a different server. Will definitely be back for another shot.

This was recommended to us. I have to admit I was disappointed. We were seated outside and it was warm. I ended up only getting chips and salsa. The chips were kinda stale. I had wanted a good steak but somehow eating it outside on a picnic table didn't fit. You have yo add $3 if you want a salad... More

The food was okay but a little dry. Our waitress was awful. We had to ask for out bread basket and she looked at us and asked us if really want bread. My husband ordered a beer and she brought all our drinks but the beer. We waited to see if she was coming back with it and after 5... More

Having visited Estes Park for 25 years, it's surprising we had never tried the Grubsteak. The outdoor dining was cool; the sandwiches, beer, soft drinks, and the macaroni and cheese were very good. My husband and I split a bison burger- very tasty - and the fries were more than enough for two. The grandkids enjoyed their meal, too. Our server... More

We went here for lunch after my wife had been here previously with her sister. My wife raved about the great burger she had. When we were there this time, I had a buffalo burger and my wife had a lamb burger. The burgers were cooked to order, and unlike some places, you actually got what you ordered. Buffalo (actually... I was with a group of 8. Those that had hamburgers were happy with the food. Those that did not, especially those that got the trout, were not. To his credit the waiter overheard our complaints and got the manager who came over and tried to figure out what was up. His explanation of the poor trout, "This close to... More
