The food and service was excellent! We had steaks that were cooked to perfection & the desserts were also fantastic!

We have always wanted to have lunch at the Stanley Hotel, so yesterday we made the drive to Estes Park and arrived at the hotel just as the lunch hour was starting. First of all, it's not obvious where the restaurant is located, and we had to ask at the front desk. Second, there was no one at the front... More

Took a break from the Rocky Mt National Park and headed over to the Stanley Hotel (the inspiration for the movie "The Shinning") parked ourselves at the Cascades Whiskey Bar and had a great lunch. Good food and great company - suggest you try some of the local Colorado brews..... had good conversation with some of the locals.

By itself the Cascades Rest. does a nice job with food and wine, but compared with the competition in the Estes Park area it's fantastic. There just isn't that much good to be said for most of the eating in Estes Park -- the hiking is great, though. So, I would call this one of the best meals you'll get... More

Along with the superb dinner, cocktails and dessert, the atmosphere and history that surrounded us made this a lasting memory.

Ate here twice. The food was excellent both times. However, the service varied significantly. When I was seated in the bar area, I had an attentive and efficient waiter who made my visit well worth it. (However, skip the kale salad unless you REALLY like kale). I had dinner two nights later and my waitress was initially good, but declined... More

This is the famous Stanley Hotel known for the Stephen King movie The Shining was based. The food here was very good as was the service. The restaurant has an awesome collection of liguor and wine. The restaurant seems a little dark and could definitely use some upgrading in that department.

It's a beautiful place to have a meal. I have been here for lunch, dinner or just a drink. The food is good, but I find it to be a bit overpriced. I like to come here for a drink before dinner and enjoy the bar, with it's great selection of whiskey and then go to another restaurant for dinner.... More

Expensive and very average. How bad can $22 meatloaf be? Come and find out. My wife tells me the halibut was ok.

We are yearly guests of the hotel and restaurant and in past years, have always enjoyed the restaurant despite massive crowds. Tonight, the service was dismal, the kitchen a disaster and the bar so loud that the dining room was a circus. Yes, today was the Elk Fest in Estes Park, the town was full and the hotel even more...
