Everything is made to order, so potential for a wait. Fries are fresh, which means they will be soft. If you don't like that you won't like it here. Burgers were really good.

Just a little burger place, but so much is homemade/handmade. Worth the wait for burgers and fries, including elk and buffalo. And the shakes are outstanding.

Went in on a Wednesday afternoon, not too busy with lots of tables that needed to be cleaned. My regular hamburger was good but pricey. The bison burger was dry- really dry. The fries were way over cooked and were soggy- like they had been fried twice. The chocolate shake was good. They had forgotten to put the onion on... More

We always stop here for great burgers when we are in Estes. You may have to wait a bit because the place is always busy. Guess everyone has the same opinion!

We shared a cheeseburger and fries. The burger was better than a McDonalds hamburger but not as good specialty burger shops we have in Nebraska. We enjoyed the french fries a little more than the burger. We would likely go there again when visiting downtown Estes, but mostly because there aren't that many similar places in the downtown area. Can't... More

We were attracted by their sign that said they were voted the best burgers in Estes Park. We had an elk burger. It was okay at best. The burger we had at another burger place in town was much better. To top it off, they weren't very busy and the service was extremely slow. They were disorganized. They got our... More

You'll find Penelopes by the lingering aromas at the top of the town. It is renowned for its Burgers and they are great. Chips are a let down and anything that is deep fried, needed a change of oil. But the Burgers are good. Have been there a number of times over the past five years, but they will have... More

We were looking for a quick bite to eat and were drawn in by the luscious smells wafting from Penelope's. Place is VERY casual and not the cleanest but the food was okay. We had veggie burgers. Judging from the other customers, the burgers are the big draw here. Fries were undercooked & drenched in oil. Buns were good and... More

We have eaten here during our last two visits to Estes Park. There are many food choices in this town, but if you are in the mood for a burger, this is the place. Nothing is premade so there is a small wait for your order. The place is worn, but I go there for food, not ambiance. If I... More
