Everyone kept recommending this place to us, but we were thinking what? Why would we come to Hawaii and eat pizza?! WOW I would have eaten here every day of our trip if I could have and I'm not even that keen on pizza! Don't skip this place, it's amazing!

Cafe Pesto was all-around amazing! From the knowledgable and friendly waitstaff to their drinks and delicious, reasonably priced food! We highly recommend their shrimp nachos as an appetizer ....absolutely delicious! We ended up eating dinner here twice on our nine-day stay on the Big Island.

I read a review the Pizza's were good here. The review under rated the pizza... it was FANTASTIC! My pizza had whole roasted garlic cloves on it - divine! Our large family choose a a variety of foods supporting all sorts of preferences from the soup of the day to pasta with fresh seafood. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed our meal!!

Had one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten - pulled pork and Gorgonzola cheese. But it was not just the food, but the service, drinks, and cafe atmosphere as well. It was a fantastic surprise.

There are some traditions on this island not to be missed. 1. Always stay at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel. 2. Drive the Saddle Road to Hilo. 3. Have sushi at Sushi Rock in Hawi, and always, always have a pizza night at Cafe Pesto!

We heard about this from a local who was back visiting family. I'm so glad we took her advice. We were staying at the Mauna Lani resort and was a 10 min drive north. The road pretty much ends at the little strip mall. We had coconut encrusted Calamari with a dipping sauce to start, the best calamari I've ever... More

I have dined here off and on for 20 years and cosistantly had wonderful meals.Today I tried The Caprese Salad adding chicken and it was superb.Thin crust style pizza excells as do the fish and pasta entrees. Not inexpensive but not over priced forthe quality.A big yes!

Good Food! Probably the best comfort Italian food on the Big Island. But expensive for a normal Italian fare. The views from the all glass doors and windows of the small harbor are good. The service was fine with good desserts.

4 of us ate here after a long day visiting the volcano, costing us $58+tip (drinking water only). The food was very good. The service was as slow as expected for Hawaii and probably in fact a little quicker than most places. The server was friendly. We enjoyed it very much.
