Nice for a change of pace if you want to leave the comfort of your hotel. Pretty good Italian food. The salads were very fresh.

This was a great place for the family. Not too far from the hotel, but a nice change in environment and menu.

Considering all the expensive Kohala dining options, Café Pesto offers great pizza, very good pasta entrees and salads, a pleasant atmosphere and excellent personal service at a much more reasonable price -- still somewhat expensive by mainland standards, but tolerable (dinners $14-$30, not $30-$45)

We eat here every time we visit the Big Island. This trip we ate at Cafe Pesto twice. You can't beat the delicious food at a very reasonable price when comparing to all the other restaurants in the area. There is no view to speak of, but we got smart this time around and made our reservations (recommended because they... More

10 mins. from my hotel on the Kohala Coast. Food just as good, much better prices. Great service. Great kids' menu. Also have pizzas and calzones if you want something more casual. Highly recommend the risotto.

Tried Cafe Pesto based on a local's suggestion. We were not disappointed! The hostess seated us right away and server Sierra was warm and friendly. A total 180 from the snooty hostess and grumpy waiter at a King's Shops restaurant we tried the night before. Try the creamy pesto dressing on a local greens salad. We had a build your... More

A little find in a small town on the Big Island. The food was good but it is in a small strip mall with no view. The sunset was gorgeous that night and we had to keep stepping outside to see it.

This place came highly recommended by staff at the Mauna Kea where we stayed. The food was delicious. The salad with the local fish was splendid. Prices were very reasonable. We actually ended up eating here several times and even ordering take home once. This is a definite "must-try" restaurant.

Great little restaurant. The pizzas on the menu are a little out there, but you can make up your own which is what we did. Good value and quality.

On our 8-day trip to the Big Island, we visited Café Pesto on the second night. My husband had the special and I had the simple pasta dish with olives, feta, and sun dried tomatoes. Both were outstanding. Our waiter, Ira, was fantastic and recommended a local microbrew to my husband after asking about his preferences. Service was flawless, presentation... More
