Great eats at Cafe Pesto

The only "criticism" would be that the first course salad was huge (too large) - but of course I guess that one can just not eat it all.

I have had good and bad at Café Pesto I simply am not impressed. I will say, however, they sell pizza dough so you can make your own at home and that is pretty cool!

Terrible service. Terrible food. Not much more to say about this place. The waiter we had was rude. Other places nearby much better.

We ate here a total of FOUR times the week we were visiting Waikoloa. We were let down at Roy's, and we recommend giving Roy's a complete miss all together because this was THE BEST! Service is always awesome, and the smoked salmon pizette is to die for! Seriously the best food on the island by far.

Came here a couple weeks ago on our first night on the island. Had reservations and were seated promptly. Pricey, but not horribly so for Hawaii. My daughter had pesto pasta which she loved. Other daughter had pepperoni pizza which was ok. I had grilled ahi atop a salad which was good, but not great. Would come here again, but... More

This was a delicious meal! I had the Island Seafood Risotto and enjoyed all the fresh seafood. The service was good- food came quickly and accurately. We didn't have to wait for a seat because we made reservations.

Tried their famous Calzone. Not worth both the calories and money. Dishes are on the small portion side. I like the taste of warm coconut tart but the coconut could be shredder finer. It's not worth to drive more than 10 mins to try this restaurant.

The menu is unique, as is the food. We travel to Hawaii every year and this is one restaurant we all ways go to.

I would not make a trip to eat at Cafe Pesto, but if you are in the area, it is a pretty good burger. Like most places, they have plenty of Kona Brewing beer. The pasts dishes were ok and they of course do fish.

This restaurant is definitely worth seeking out. It's situated in the harbor town of Kawaihae, a bit removed from the large resorts and busy streets of the Big Island. It is a wonderful alternative to expensive venues while maintaining the quality, freshness, and creativity of the food. Our sever was most helpful in assisting is to choose our meal and... More
