We were staying in Waikoloa and decided to start trying restaurants outside of the resort. Café Pesto was suggested by friends that live part time on the island. We were not disappointed. The staff was exceptionally friendly. Hostess was very engaging with a great sense of humor. We were greeted promptly by our server who was both friendly and relaxed.... More

I am sure it is great to eat in, but we use Cafe Pesto for take out dinners on the beach. Its a quick drive from Mauna Kea Beach, Hapuna, or even Mauni Lani. We spread out a couple of towels, bring our own drinks, and watch the sunset. A low cost alternative to the resort restaurants and great for... More

Cafe Pesto has long been a favorite of ours but during this visit I had their Blue Caesar salad. Wow! I love Caesar salads and this was the best one I've ever had. They offer it without the Gorgonzola I assume because some may not like strong cheeses but I found the balance so perfect that I'd recommend you try... More

Cafe Pesto was easily our best "find" while on the Big Island. We have eaten at the five-star places on the other side (KPC, Four Seasons's ULU, and Merriman's being our favorites), so really we were not expecting anything more than edible food in Hilo. When my wife stumbled on some good reviews for Cafe Pesto, we decided to try... More

Cafe Pesto is a charming cafe located behind a very nondescript shopping center. Offerings include delicious hand- tossed pizzas, sandwiches, salads and pastas. There is a full bar. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was a nice surprise. 9" pizza is $13.95. Would definitely return.

My wife and I had a very satisfying dinner at Cafe Pesto on April 20, 2015. The Ceasar salad was full-flavored, my crusted goat cheese on a bed of roasted eggplant, tomato and spinach with crostini was huge, but so good I ate the whole thing. We love their pizzas, and we each had one (for leftovers, of course!) Our... More

They provided two long tables and (with infinite patience and smiling service!!!) cheerfully accommodated everyone..(as well as all their other happy customers!) providing fun and... More

The old stand-by on the West side of the island. I like it for a quick lunch of fresh grilled fish over local salad greens. The poke is also very good. At dinner, I think their Pizzas are probably the best choice.

Its casual with a wide menu selection. Food is reasonably priced, pizza is very good. It is a good family restaurant. It is not a place for a view but it was a good go to when your staying in the resort section of the big island (around Hilton) and you want a break from the resort. Best for family... More
