Excellent seafood! Cozy restaurant!

We went on a Tuesday night, and could only manage an 8:00 pm reservation (so plan ahead). Although the name suggest Italian cuisine, and there is some of that on the menu, there are also a number of "Island" choices as well. I had the wok-fried shrimp and scallops which were very tasty with the red curry sauce. Mrs. frsbdg... More

We know we are back in Hawaii when we have our meal at Cafe Pesto. It starts with Mango Margaritas. The coconut calamari, blue Caesar salad and tonight's Manhattan fish chowder was excellent! Joslyn provided true special aloha service. We will return before we leave the island.

Two years ago we fell in love with the cafe pesto in Hilo, so we tried them both this year. The one in Hilo let us down on a busy day, but the one one in Kawaihae was really unacceptable; the food blaise, and the service fairly indifferent to us and especialy to one poor couple that stood waiting for... Six of us ate here twice. My first meal was excellent! We all really liked all the meals except my second meal. It was a Luau pizza. I thought it was like a ham and pineapple but it was more like a pulled pork( different sauce though). The waitress tried to explain - I just didn't understand until I tasted... More

Excellent food at a reasonable-for-Hawaii price. Ate here twice and think I like the pizza better than the pasta, but both were good.

We had New Year's Eve dinner here. Excellent food and service. Loved watching the sunset over the harbor.

We've been to both Cafe Pestos. Both have good food well presented. Pizzas are imaginative and the salads done with local greens...not out of a box like most restaurants. The Hilo cafe is in an old building and the setting is very old Hilo city. There was an arts and crafts market near by on the day were were in... More

Everything is pretty delicious, I haven't had a bad meal. Best Pizza in the area, maybe all of west Hawaii.

This place was recommended to us by a former resident of the Big Island so we decided to go there to check it out since we were headed north to a beach. Since it opened at 11 a.m., we only had to kill 15 minutes before we entered. At that time it was not busy but people did start trickling... More
