Good service, good food

Happened upon Café Pesto by accident. We ordered the soup and the calamari for appetizers. The calamari was awesome. Some of the best fried calamari I've ever eaten. My husband's soup was excellent. We then ordered a salad, my husband had the fish of the day and I had the poke. Both were very... read more

My family has been eating in this restaurant or taking out for the past 10 years. Eat in food generally is good and service is good. However, in recent months, they started charging mandatory tip for take out. What for? For the pizza box? Normally we take out pizza and toppings are getting less and less with time. During this... The toppings on the set pizza menu did not appeal so we ordered three custom pies for take out, not really paying attention to the cost per topping. (Our fault). We gulped hard when the bill for the three pies was almost $100. On top of this They charge a mandatory gratuity on take out orders. I have never seen... More

This is a favourite restaurant to visit when we come to Hawaii. The restaurant itself isn't really anything special or fancy, it's just comfortable. The beer selection is good, and the food is super good. All the servers are really friendly and make sure you have a lovely meal. I'd always recommend this place. Looking forward to ordering pizzas on... More

Recently had a four day break at a resort hotel at Hapuna and wanted a different cuisine from the large hotel style. This cosy and friendly restaurant is certainly worth a visit. Don't be put off by the industrial setting as you drive into the seaside town Once inside the restaurant it is totally different . Always very busy but if... More

Had a real nice lunch experience @ this restaurant on a beautiful Easter Sunday in Hawaii! First we were seated by a smiling hostess(Katie) at our table. We were than treated to prompt and friendly service by our waiter Eli. Our food was top notch--we split a Ceasar salad, and pizza! Had to take a couple of pieces home. Again,... More

Dined here at the recommendations of family who live on the island as a nice break from seafood. Our server took excellent care of us and while the main attraction was the pizza (all three of the types our table ordered were fabulous), my wife went with a pasta dish that was on special and she was thrilled with it!... We found this restaurant on the road to Hawi. It looks like fine dining, but the dishes are made with local products and prepared very nicely. Be sure to stop on your way to, or from, Hawi.
