great food, good options at reasonable prices

We've eaten there several times now. There is a good selection of food, including fresh fish and vegetarian options. Their purpose potato salad is awesome.

The Good: I've been here many time over the past several years. It was one of my favorite places to eat on the Big Island, Food is consistent and very good. Namely, the pizzas and salads are stellar, the calzones and other dishes have never disappointed. I never miss doing the Blue Caesar. Fresh and tasty food in a relaxed... More

We've been to the Cafe Pesto in Hilo several times and this trip we decided to try their other location. We always get the Southwestern Pizza and it's SO YUMMY. We order extra so that we can re-heat leftovers under the broiler back at our villa. Great food and great service.

After enjoying a good share of plate lunch style of Hawaii dining in the Big Island, our group was searching for some good Italian food on the Big Island and decided to try Cafe Pesto. They specialize in pizza which we found to be excellent...crust was just right and the combination of ingredients was very authentic Italian. Pasta dishes were... More

First time here and the pizza was great ! My husband got the 9" Southwestern and I got the 9" pineapple with ham. We had enough leftover for another meal. Hope we can go back before we have to go home. They have been in business for 22 years so hoping they will be here when we return in 2017.

We return to Cafe Pesto whenever we visit the Big Island. It's always delicious and the service is first rate. They update the menu so there is always something new to tempt us.

On my school trip to Hawaii my teachers made a reservation here for our group of almost 40 people. I was starving when we came in and hardly expecting to be eating any time soon considering the amount of people. Almost the second we sat down they began serving us our food which was delicious! The staff was so kind... More

We were very spoiled from the time we stepped in the door until we left with the excellant service provided by the attentive staff on our visit . We had been given a full explanation of the nights offerings and the menu selections and were very delighted with all of our choices. This was our second visit to the restaurant... More

Vegetarian options! And something for the carnivores too. Easy to find, hours of operation convenient. No reservations needed.

Excellent service, average food. While the shrimps and scallops were wonderfully grilled, the pasta was overcooked and the sauce gloppy with heavy-handed use of cream. The place seems to live up to the adage: in a pizza joint, order pizza.
