I have eaten at the Seafood Bar several times a year every year for as long as I can remember (10 years maybe?) It is a very relaxing place in Kawaihae. The food is quick. The menu stays the same. Drinks and beers are good. If I come with the family, I love to sit outside right before sunset. When... More

Good food and drink and a happy hour from 3-7. Menu has seafood, pupus, etc. Management and staff have been there a long time and know what they are doing. Atmosphere is Tiki Hawaiian with indoor/outdoor seating. Enjoy!

Of all the restaurants we tried on the Big Island, this one didn't seem to measure up. We came on a Wednesday night and chose a seat on the patio, as there was a big group taking up most of the tables indoors. After we got our drinks, a wasp took a special interest in our table, so we moved... More

We had planned to hit Blue Dragon, but it was closed, so we tried Seafood Bar and Grill. At first, I was a bit hesitant because we seemed a bit like the haole outsiders when we walked in, but our server was VERY sweet and when I asked if they could just do grilled shrimp and mashed potatoes for my... This was our first dinner in Hawaii and we were looking forward to a good Mai Tai... they delivered. Given the prices, we didn't expect gourmet dishes but the food was surprisingly very good. I would certainly stop for another meal here.

Stumbled across The Seafood Grill our first night on the island. We were seated promptly. Menu had good options for kids and adults. We would go back in the future. Parking is a bit of a challenge.

We make special trips from the other side of the island (Hilo) and always enjoy the great food, drinks & atmosphere (not the view 😜). The oysters Rockefeller & Oyster Shooters last night were onolicious, as was everything else we ordered.

We live on the Hawai'i island. For years, we could rely on this place for adequate pub food in a local, kama'aina atmosphere. Prices here, now, rival the sucky hotel restaurants and the portions are diminished. Capable and friendly wait staff, nice sunset location near the harbor, very friendly manager. Happy hour, begins at 3pm and ends at 6pm., who... More

This place is known for it's blended B52's -a nice treat on a hot island day. But if you don't stay for dinner and only have drinks, they were less than accommodating - and you'd figure that 8 people ordering two rounds each would warm some hearts, but sadly, no.

We are a family of 6 so eating out is prohibitively expensive. (We mostly cooked for ourselves in our condo.) This splurge for lunch on a whim was worth every penny.
